Opened at two and a half. Means smart money is going on Tennessee. (Sharps they are called---bet early if they like a line). Should bode well for a UT win.

It has nothing to do with whether the money is smart. Early money was on NC State and the points. When the line was adjusted, the money moved towards UT. This is just an adjustment to the adjustment.

It opened at -7 and now is consensus -4. Some joints have it as low as -3.5.

Early money is going on Wolfpack.

Well ,the site I use, which is pregame, a Las Vegas institution, shows the game as opening at 2.5 and now up to 4.

And just now on vegas insider it show opening at 7. I stand corrected. And my site sucks.

I see you don't have a clue.

Actually he is correct. It started at -7. You must not be reading it correctly.

You sir, are correct. Op 7 now--4. Foot in mouth, due to some bad info. from pregame. Vegas insider .com has it correct. Apologies all around. Surprising they would open it at 7, all the ncst fans are figuring on a blowout---for them-----lmao

Well now John, that wasn't very nice.

Here's my source. The first column is the opening line followed by all the big Vegas books. Since I don't have a clue, maybe you would be so kind as to explain the error of my ways.

College Football Las Vegas Sportsbook Odds, NCAA Football Betting Lines and Point Spreads at VegasInsider.com.

When you're done, why don't you post your source?

Most early $ bets are made by pro gamblers not fans.

NC State fans with more money than they have sense. I'll take some of that at 4.

More excited about catching Vandy at +10.5 and laughing my ass off at a #9 team not even favored a by a TD over the Dores. Line now at 6.5 :eek:lol:

Also, if a line moves 4 or more points in one direction, historically, the majority of the time the team that gains the points will cover. It's something like 55-60%. Professional gamblers track this and bet accordingly. What's more, when a line moves by 4 points, a lot of professional gamblers will try to middle the bet and win on both bets. Example: Bet Tennessee at -3 and NC State at +7. If you win both, you win double and if you lose both you are just out the juice for each bet. Or you could win one and just cancel the losing bet out.
My point being that lines change for a lot of reasons outside of football knowledge.

You want to take another crack at that?
