The recruiting class is tanking. About what you would expect after losing to Kentucky.

Stand bye...If we get Shannon, we will pull some surprises. This staff is not as dumb as u think. I'll gurantee that they told the 3 kids to look elsewhere because they know there are bigger fish to reel in.

You Forreal? Were just setting up to get some better recruits than the ones we didn't need, Like Henderson. It's gonna be good when we get Bourque, Pender, Diggs, and Mccullers.

And possibly Shanks if we get him on a visit.

Either follow recruiting and know what's going on, or don't post stupid threads, please. Thanks.

Wait until Bourque, McCullers, Pender, Q. Davis and or Patterson commits. See what the rankings say then.

I know recruiting is a huge thing, but some make too big a deal of it. Whether we are 16th or 6th it really dont matter. The difference between the two is not big. If we were 60th I might be a little pissed. Top talent is still coming to Knoxville, so the bottom line is the coaches have to coach it up. I hate to be the guy who says this stuff, but I heard an interview with Brett Bielema (sp?) that really changed my thinking on the recruiting game. He mentioned that last years senior class was ranked very low (in the 60's or 80's) as a recruiting class. Those kids had them in top ten territory and Wisconsin had the most rookies in NFL training camps this year. All that from a class that was supposed to be garbage. He talked about getting kids that fit there system and program, then coaching them up. If Dooley and UT can bring in kids that fit the system and program, plus have talent, they should be able to coach those kids to championship levels. Look at what top 5 classes have gotten Texas and Florida State the last few years.

agree to a point. but look what happened to Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl against Oregon. The same Oregon team that lost to LSU. Things are a little different from the Big 10 to SEC. Will agree we need quality athletes that fit the system and not always the highest stars.

Notice i said last years team.:eek:k: BTW... Wisconsin was in a BSC game and was two miracle plays away from playing for the National Title. I will take those results any day for UT. We need to get these kids coached up and physically ready to play. I think its a bit rediculous but did you know that Wisconsin redshirts 100% of its players. They dont want them on the field until they are physically strong enough to compete at the highest levels, and have a total grasp of the playbook and concepts. I thought that was extreme but it works for them. UT and its fans should take some notes on how to do more with less. I would hate to see a school like Wisconsin with the athletes UT has, they would be scary to say the least.
