Not the fall a lot of people thought might happen.

Seventh is about right for this team. They peaked too soon and are now tired heading into the SEC tourney.

KY and LSU were both more physical than UT. Is that the refs fault? No, we got man handled and let the other team do it. We will be a 2 seed in the NCAA's unless we win the SEC tourney.

This is the exact same team as it was before our last two losses. With 7 games left, I said on this board that we would likely lose 3 or 4 games, but that we are still a great team. I was waiting to see the meltdown on here when it started happening. I'm hopeful we can win 3 of the last 4, but even if we split, we are a top 5 team in the country as far as our level of play and depth. Right now, I would put us at about number 3.

I got no problem with not being number one, but still in the top ten and a two seed at the minimum. Makes the Vols less of a target and causes the so-called blue blood schools to tend to underestimate them.

I don't disagree but we had 4 starters with 4 fouls , Grant, Schofield, Bone & Bowden. Playing and manhandling with 4 fouls is hard to do when you are called 2 to 1 on foul ratio.

Not that I really care, but it's pretty laughable that two 5-loss teams are ranked ahead of us, both of whom have at least one worse loss than any of ours. Michigan State is 2.5 weeks removed from back-to-back losses to Indiana and Illinois, who are a combined 23-31...both with losing overall and Big 10 records. Recency bias cant be contained in these matters, I guess.

This team is fine as long as Bone is not still sick. Everybody talks about Waters missing that game, but Bone played through it and was not himself. Waters not playing allowed Smart to have his break-out game, blowing by a sick Bone a couple of times. Ah Well, we lost, now they take out the frustrations against Ole Miss. Vols can't lose this one, it could really lower morale. But, it's not happening, Vols bounce back, 80-70. I think #7 is about right although I thought we would drop to 6th, didn't think MSU would pass us

The writers are being influenced more and more by statistical rankings. Which defeats the entire purpose of a human poll. It’s too bad

I dont really care for rankings. But it's laughable that TN went from 1 to 5 when they lost bad AT #5 Kentucky.

Duke gets blown out at HOME to #8 UNC and falls to #3.

Blue blood bias at its best
But but Zion... All I've been hearing around here. TBH UNC is better than number 8 IMO and are coming on strong. Would not surprise me to see them as a 1 seed either.

Unc has looked great at times and like **** at times. I think there are a group of teams near the top that could win it all, and then a huge gap between everyone else
