It's a bad ooc opponent to put on the schedule, but tough to pass on a game like this and it's recruiting benefits.

Ga Tech has put several UK players in the turf with supposed cut or chop blocks.
Stoops pointed to Johnson about it and they have been yelling at each other on the field.

If you have ever watched a triple option team, they all cut block. It's legal and part of the scheme.

What is pessimistic about talking about the first opponent of next season and the fact that they cut block defensive linemen and injure a lot of players?????????

It appears you missed the multiple posts about "who scheduled this game", etc.

GT is not the type of team you want to play as your 1st game of the season besides preparing for the triple option....they cut block.......a lot. Hoping we get through without any injuries.

Last time we played Air Force, with Johnson as the coach, players complained about being black and blue. UT won but just barely. No upside to playing the wishbone. GT was very smart to utilize this offense, they don't need 5 star players to run it. Harder to get those 4 and 5 star players with the academics at GT. Johnson was my choice when Fulmer was fired.

Johnson never coached Air Force. He coached Navy

I don't know why everybody is freaking out over facing a team that cut blocks. We played a bunch of conventional blocking schemes this year and our d-line was decimated by injury. It's not like GT can make things worse.

If they are effective at it we might be in trouble because it keeps DL from making plays and puts you in a spot to have a couple of leg injuries next year on the DL.

Tennessee is not exactly the type of team you want to open with either, especially with a new QB who may bring new talents to the table. I'd rather be on our end than theirs, they have a LOT to worry about IMO.

It's the type of play/block the UGA player put on Tuttle but on steroids.

How many teams complain about Tech? If it was that bad you would think the ACC would look into it. Have they?
