Well they'll end up being 3-0 against the SEC this year. Although not against good SEC teams.

True. But if this offense was in the SEC and teams had to prepare for it more than just once on occasion i dont think it could be successful. Its not built to score quickly. And if Tennessee ran this offense i couldnt see beating Alabama, Florida, South Carolina or Georgia. And Vandy could probably shut us down. I know Tech beats Georgia. But Georgia plays us tougher than they do Tech. Watching the Tech/Georgia game most of the time Georgia looks uninterested. This offense would be 6-6 to 8-4 at best in the SEC.

No I agree. When you don't see it often it can be weird to adjust. And yes, certainly better SEC teams would have given more of a fight.

A good coach will plan for this. Got to use hands and arms and think. And keep your feet moving

I think if Georgia Tech took their offense and blended in just a little more of a passing game they could be much more explosive. They wouldnt have to change to drastically to accomplish it. But i would much rather see an I-formation over this offense game 1 next season. But i think we have an advantage. Without having Dobbs to prepare for Tech will be at a disadvantage. I dont think we drop off to much next year. And i think our defense will be MUCH IMPROVED.

Not trying to be a smartass here, but the defense definitely can't get worse. Injuries and stupid moments killed UT this year. Gave up a ton of yards per game and points per game. The offense really carried the defense. Hope UT can figure it out next season cause the potential is there.

Little thats not being a smartass. Thats being a realise. Injuries were just devastating. And there were many bonehead plays aling the way to. I feel ya on this response 100%

I've dreaded this game and the cut blocking since the moment I saw it on the schedule. I don't expect more than 7 wins next year, but I'd like to have a somewhat healthy DL for at least the first few games. Playing GT makes that very unlikely. Terrible opponent to start the season with.

It is good to prepare all off season for them, but bad in the sense that we have very real concerns with injuries occuring because of their cheap azz blocks

This thread is so amusing! Like Boca Vol stated the NEXT DAY after a good victory, the pessimistic Vols are out in force! lol. May I offer the pessimistic Vols some cheese with your whine! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

What is pessimistic about talking about the first opponent of next season and the fact that they cut block defensive linemen and injure a lot of players?????????

They beat Vandy this year.

Apparently the offense we run is 6-6 / 8-4 as well?
