Vols Need Mobile QB

I don’t know the budget
I don’t know if they could even get out of who they have.
I don’t know who would be available.
I don’t know who would be willing to come.

However after years of the same......I feel the players, the fans, and everyone involved should at least......be able to expect more.

If the man at the top isn’t to blame....then who is?

Years of the same? For the first time in a decade we are beating who we are supposed to beat. That’s a step in the right direction. I wanted to beat UGA too but calm down

I agree Tennessee has improved.

But Tennessee keeps making the same mistakes.....at what point do we get to think that should be different?

At what point do we get to at least think Tennessee can be competitive?

We have heard all this for years......it still looks much the same. All be it with more and better talent now.

I guess I'm trying to figure why everyone is in panic mode. UGA has better talent than we do. Their defense is the best in the SEC by a mile. I think you would agree that we are better today than we were this time last year. Did I believe we could win this game? Yes, but we didn't play or coach well enough to do so to beat the #3 team in the country. We are not there as far as competing with the elite teams but you should agree that we are inching closer. I think as fans we want immediate results but its a process.

We will be fine. Beat Kentucky next week and then we have a showdown with Bama who just gave up 48 points and over 600 yards (over 250 on the ground) to Ole Miss.

I said before the season started I feared no one on our schedule. That hasn't changed. Obviously we need to improve in certain areas but we are only 3 games in.

We just need any QB.

I keep seeing Guarantano apologists trying to allocate blame everywhere else, and it’s truly head scratching.

We go into half time up 4 and our 5th year senior starting QB gives away 6 points on bonehead plays, our entire team deflated because the QB went into a mental tailspin. Anyone that can’t see that is just completely out of their mind.

Let’s keep beating our chests over beating the likes of UAB and Vandy and then let games like this just slip into embarrassment because our coach can’t make a switch at QB.

ANY ****ing body else could have been better than Guarantano.

I wanted Les Miles myself. I would have taken Kiffin back. Gave Saban all he could handle tonight with a fraction of the talent that TN has. In his first season with the team. Three years and three recruiting classes in and we can’t even get within striking range of any of our three biggest rivals. I am sorry, we should have at least been able to cover the points tonight. This was an embarrassment

I doubt Lane would be able to do what they did to Bama to UGA. I think Pruitt is okay. He not perfect but you can see the vast improvement from last year team.

I didn't think we played well in the 1st half but somehow had a 21-17 lead going into halftime. The offense in all areas was horrible in the second half.

Truthfully if anyone is in “panic” mode.....they have simply deceived themselves.

I’m just ticked off. I’m upset because of how Tennessee played. They played bad, they made mistake after mistake.....and most were simply mental.

Georgia slotted Tennessee 7. Smart caused a 10 point swing (in Tennessee’s favor) on failed 4th downs. Tennessee had a couple good passing plays (14 points)......however if you look at the game as a whole......Tennessee wasn’t even in it......just had a couple plays and some gimmies given to them by Georgia.

We should be able at this point to at least play with some of the better teams. We should be able to see Tennessee play a more complete game without the mental mistakes.

It just isn’t happening. Discipline is one of the things I really thought Pruitt would bring.....it hasn’t arrived yet.

After 12 years (or more really) some can lose patience.......and I have. I think we should be able to expect more. Not necessarily to beat the best teams......but to see Tennessee play better. To see them be competitive, and to see them not break down mentally consistently.

Anybody that is not in love with JG like JP is.

I said before the season i thought JG gave us the best chance to win and I understand why CJP would stick with the kid. But it wouldn't matter who was back there today. Everybody on offense especially in the 2nd half was terrible.

We may get a QB if JG struggles against Kentucky next week.

I think it's concerning that Arkansas, a program that's been in shambles played them just as well as we did. Also, 3 years in (minus a fluke early play) it's another 30 point loss. The talent has risen but the results haven't followed. Had UGA beat us by 10 and held us to 100 yards rushing, I could easily accept that.

Kirby passed on a couple of field goals and made a few bonehead calls. It could have been even worse.

JG has no mobility and is slow. Walk on QB at UGA can at least run when there's pressure and make things happen. UGA blitzed a lot but JG made awful decisions and didn't protect the ball. Overall Vols played hard but we need a Mobil QB to put pressure on the defenses.
They have one

Can't disagree with you on any of that. All the mental errors was disappointing but our kids played hard and all the mistakes are coachable/fixable. Just game 3 too. I willing to bet we take care of business against Kentucky and have a better showing against Bama.

Im no where near ready to get rid of Pruitt. But hypothetically if we was to i gotta say it would be unpopular till after the first year was over and we won the East. But Kiffin is the best option out there that is isnt a pipe dream. He would be on the next flight here if gave the phone call.

I definitely understand where you are coming from but UGA may be the best team in the SEC this year. And until we get better QB play we won't beat the upper echelon teams in the league. And I'm not SAYING JG the reason we lost. The whole offense was terrible and are to blame.

The players played really hard. As a fan I hate it most for them.....their the ones who put in the work, and give it all they have.

Tennessee simply has more talent than Kentucky. Sry KY....it is what it is, and I do think Tennessee will beat KY.

I had thought we would all see Tennessee giving Bama a game....I’m not certain right now.

I know they can, but from top to bottom they got to get the “mental” taken care of.....or it could be bad. I’m still hopeful.....just cause I’m mad.....don’t mean I don’t still have hope.

I’m mad at the top.....cause I believe that where it should be. When your the leader you take that responsibility (just my opinion).

I agree, we can't make the same mental mistakes and dumb penalties. We always got to take advantage of the breaks we get (like the fumble for a TD but we drop the INT that eventually lead to a UGA TD).

We beat ourselves alot in this game. My only concern is the offense. Our offense is not creative at all. Even though I don't think our line will get whooped again the rest of the season like they did today, we better draw up some more creative plays.

I have watched Ark play, they are turning things around and improving weekly, could very well beat us at their place Nov 07.
