Better to start #24, look better than that with key people out of lineup, and have convincing win than to be hyped up as #1 and not look good, create a lot of doubt and lose. Let’s work our way up the chart the old fashioned way with quality wins and solid performances. Georgia will be our first challenge. Need to improve on DL. We got to playa lot of young guys to gain experience. Need to do it again this week. Playing time is huge for our young guys. Not only from experience gained but the confidence level increases. Plus, it shows recruits if you put in the work, you will play early. Secondary still concerns me. If McCoy gets healthy we get better instantly. We have to defend the middle when we are rushing 5 or more. Crossing routes are too wide open. Dbs must turn their heads and find the ball. Refs allow a lot of contact from DBs if you turn your head and play the ball. Face guarding gets a flag every time if there is contact. As good as Carter is blitzing from LB, we have to watch RB pass routes and TEs crossing. Go Big Orange! Let’s win next up.

We were S&p+ #13 and #9 in the fpi. We knew this was a good football team. Josh Heupel said his roster was ready to win and compete for championships now during the Spring and he was right. Hopefully our young guys get better as the season progresses. If we can develop some depth on defense and continue to get more comfortable in the passing game, this team is going to be a lot of fun.

And...I read today we dropped in the ESPN FPI after beating a decent Syracuse team....And USCw moved up 8 spots by beating Missouri State. What the......
