VOLS Meachem vs VOLS Manning

Who has said that?

I've heard such things.

It's not really Peyton Manning himself that I dislike, even though it might seem that way. I just hate when people put him on some pedestal and claim he's the greatest player of all time. For further example, see Tim Tebow and the press he gets.

Yea, that guy isn't me.

Like I said, PM himself, don't have a problem with. Constant, mindless slobbering, definite problem with.

Being a fan is one thing. Saying that you'd rather Peyton Manning win a Super Bowl than to have Tennessee win a national title is a completely different animal.

Someone actually said this?
BTW - Go COLTS!

Who exactly are you talking about? The talking head media has been saying that for two weeks. And they ain't all Vol fans.

Vol fans, media in general. And I'm not saying that all Vol fans or all of the media and public in general are mouthbreathing idiots or blind homers. It's just that some of the fanbase treats him like a god and that he can do no wrong.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for PM. I think when it's all said and done with, he'll be in the top 10 for greatest QB's of all-time. But I don't like hearing about it every 5 seconds.

I'm sick of hearing about poor, poor New Orleans and how much this would mean to the shattered people because of Katrina...blah, blah. Go Colts, beat 'em by three touchdowns.

Pulling for the colts all the way, but I do cheer when ever meachem makes a play. I was his peer mentor his freshman year at UT so I have to pull for him!

Careful out there on that limb. I can tell you're bitter for some reason that Peyton is held in higher esteem than Tee Martin. I love Tee Martin as much as the next guy, but he was never close to Peyton as a QB. Everyone knows Peyton will go down as the greatest of all-time and those who deny it are either kidding themselves, ignorant, or just stupid. That's being a realist.

lol @ all the die-hard colts fans that only became fans in 98
Why? I gave up on the NFL in approx. 85 because it was too boring. Peyton made me return to a yawning league. So what's so damn funny?

What? So, when is your cutoff? Is it age or year? I started liking the Colts in '98 since there was no other team in the "south", but the Falcons. It made sense to cheer for Peyton's team since I had limited appreciation for the NFL.

Now, I enjoy the NFL and have a team. It's like Jordan with the Bulls. Many people liked the Bulls due to Jordan. Peyton is no different.

Yes, I have cheered for the Colts since '98, but I have been a fan through tough years and good years (like this one).

Go back to 5th grade and learn how to argue.

No. At least not until he wins another championship or two.

I'm a Titans fan but I bleed bright orange.

Since my Titans are sitting home trying to figure out how they started out 0-6 I'll have to cheer on the AFC Champion Colts and Manning.

I think it's going to be a great game and a wild shootout which is why I picked the Colts to win by only 3 points.

Now pass me a cup of that diesel Dooley-ade and let me get back to feeling great about where we're headed and will be 4 years from now.

GO BIG ORANGE !!!

Well that would really be crazy. It's not even the same hemisphere. But in the pro ranks, it's the next best thing because Manning is the face of the NFL and if he wins another one he will be regarded by most as the best ever. Since he is in a lot of ways the face of UT as well, this helps us in the long run.
