Chad Henne is overrated.

Chad Henne, like Ainge for a little while, has really rode the success of his freshman year. He showed a lot of promise. He's been good his whole career, but I don't see him being a high pick. You'd expect a brighter pro future out of a four year starter at Michigan I guess. Still, I doubt UM fans are disappointed with him. He's had a pretty good career.

That is a possibility. And he doesn't have Bush or that other RB. The top 5 is really a tossup. Brohm could struggle because of new system. Ainge could struggle because of young WRs. Brennan will still likely have a monster year, but will teams give him 1st round looks since he is at Hawaii? Booty is in a good position, but he lost his top WRs and I've heard his current WR corps hasn't been producing very well. Woodson could be a one year wonder. I'd say the top 4 are close to a lock but in no particular order. It just depends on who needs a QB and who they like more.
If both Woodson and Ainge have similar years as last year, I could see a GM or coach seeing Ainge and Woodson being a toss up if they are the best picks left on the board.

He has had good production, I just don't think he has all of the physical tools. He is a product of the system, IMO.

And there were 6 QBs taken in the first day this year(2 1st round Russell/Quinn, 3 2nd round Kolb/Beck/Stanton, 1 3rd round Edwards). I honestly think we could see Brohm and Ainge in the first round next year(though neither at #1, maybe Brohm in top 5), Brennan and Booty in the early 2nd round, and Woodson and Henne in the mid to late 3rd round.

Like I said, it depends on who they like more. Ainge will fit better in some systems than Woodson and vice versa.

I can't see Ainge being drafted that high with all his injury problems.

And as I stated, he is a product of his system. Spurrier unloads QBs with big win records and tons of stats but that doesn't mean anything in the NFL.

There is a little more to drafting that stats and records.

What qualities does Ainge have that make you think he is a first round pick? If it isn't stats or records, what other intangibles does Ainge offer?

Ainge plays on a crappier team? The same team that is being celebrated in this very thread as having 5 first day picks?

The same quarterback that lost to Penn State?

Michigan last year was better than UT. They had a productive running game. They had an adequate defense.

I'm trying to find the sense in someone saying that Ainge will be a first round pick next year.

There is no reasoning with you. What the hell did John Beck win when he was at BYU? He went 2nd round. What the hell did Stanford's QB win when he was in college? He went 3rd round.

Using your logic, Leak should have been the first pick in the draft.

If you are such a draft expert, why do you asked so many questions?
All I wanted to know was on what basis someone could actually say that Ainge will be a first round pick. One guy has already said that you can throw stats and records out of the window (unbelievable).

All I wanted to know was how can anyone rate Ainge so highly if he hasn't played a full season and if records and stats are thrown out of the window.

If Akili Smith can get drafted in the first round, Ainge can do it, too. I'm not predicting it, but I'm not ruling it out. As for playing a full season, the Titans just drafted a running back in the second round that started about 5 games in his entire career.

He's better than the large majority of senior QBs next year. Watch some football and you might understand that

His arm and his production. If he has a big year with inexperienced WR and the new receivers, he will just about be a first round lock.

And his stats are not "thrown out the window." It's really just a side note. If a player doesn't have the skills to play in the NFL, it doesn't matter the stats. You won't get picked just because of your stats, but you can get picked based on abilities.
