Vols land 4-star OT JB Shabazz

This 2026 class WILL WIN a title at UT in the next 4 years. You can quote me on that.

If we manage to land Hiter or Keys ...the no1 RB and no1 WR...to go with our no1 QB, great Oline group, 2 different top100 players nationally at LB, 2 VERY FAST WRs, and a loaded defensive class...it will just make it a little easier.

This 2025 season is likely a 9-3 or even 8-4 type year due to inexperience at QB, WR, Oline, and LB....but 2026 forward we are gonna have a playoff caliber team in the hunt for a title every season IMO. These 24, 25, and 26 classes are FULL of big time players that chose UT over the Gumps, Pups, Buckeyes etc.

Let's hope, but if I've learned anything over my many years, it's that you never know how a player will work out. Your odds are better with a roster full of 4 and 5 stars, but it's all about evals and development. There are some on this staff who've proven that they know what they're looking for. Others not so much. Time will tell, but the way this class finishes will tell us a lot.

It’s odd how the different rating services can be so different…don’t expect them to be the same but 247 lists this young man as the #46 OL in the class vs the #6…how can they be so different? The fact that this young man was offered by Ohio State, Penn State, South Carolina and a dozen other good teams makes me think 247 is the outlier…

It has a lot to do with how in depth the sites have evaluated a specific prospect. These current rankings are not what they'll be at years end. They have camps that are affiliated with different recruiting services. Performing well at these different camps can boost your ranking. What sucks is that a lot of these camps cost money and also require an invitation to get to. So say you're a monster o lineman who plays for a small school with a coach who isn't active in the community and you don't have people in your life who can put together a tape for you/ can't afford the travel/ camp costs. It's almost a guarantee you'll never be a 4 star despite having all the talent in the world. It what disgusts me when people trash 3 star recruits who commit to Tennessee. You don't know their situation, and you're ruining the biggest moment of these kids life because of your selfish beliefs in arbitrary recruiting service rankings. Yes, there is clear data that shows that teams with higher recruiting rankings win more, but there are so many moving parts and catalysts in college football today that need to be understood by casual fans before they start shooting their mouth off.
