Vols, Kiffin make Bottom Ten

The fact that anybody can get up in arms about a piece with a Michael Jackson song motif is flat out hilarious.

Being in the preseason bottom 10, more importantly at the coveted #5 spot, is not a big deal. Look through previous bottom 5s to get the idea. Just a fun poll.

THANK GOD that somebody finally gets it. I mean, some of you have such big chips on your shoulders that I'm surprised you can stand upright. Someone may already have explained it, but I'm not scrolling through 2 more pages to see. For people that don't normally read this poll, here's how it goes:

They pick 9 of the worst teams in the NCAA and put them in a list. The number 5 spot is reserved for a big name team that has screwed up. Undefeated teams that get blown out by other undefeated teams have made #5. Oregon's uniforms have made #5. Big teams that squeaked by lesser teams have made it. I mean, seriously. How many times can y'all say "Look at how <insert random internet writer's name here> dissed us! Let's complain and write lots of angry emails to him!" The team was bad last year. And though Kiffin has gotten UT back on the map, he has ruffled some feathers. This stuff is going to keep coming up until the games are played. I'd thought that you would all be used to it by now. I mean, isn't it more prudent to worry about who the quarterback is going to be? Or about if Lincoln will progress or regress from last year? Maybe you could worry about the O-line? Or if Nu'Keese is going to survive the entire year? I mean, come on...

#5 is reserved for a team that made an ass of themselves in the week/offseason before the poll, not necessarily a bottom ten team.

It's still stupid, but its not a literal prediction.

I always love it when people read something they find stupid and become so upset that they . . . link it here so that several thousand more people will click on it.

To hopefully calm everyone down, just a little... 2007's week by week #5 on the bottom ten.

Preseason: Summer police blotters

Week One: Michigan(following Appy State loss, or as I say the day the football gods decided to sleep in)

Week Two: Michigan(after losing to Oregon 39-7 at home)

Week Three: UCLA(#11 UCLA lost to Utah 44-6)

Week Four: Louisville(lost to a Robinson coached Syracuse team)

Week Five: The Big Twelve South(Oklahoma and Texas lost, plus Franchione's VIP newsletter for cash story broke, and Oklahoma State was considered dead in the water)

Week Six: USC(Lost to Stanford, at home)

Week Seven: Nebraska(for losing two games in blowouts)

Week Eight: Notre Dame(for being 1-7... might have belonged here)

Week Nine: Virginia(lost to NC State after a 7-1 start)

Week Ten: Nebraska(lost to Kansas for the first time in god knows how long)

Week Eleven: Miami(4 game losing streak to finish the year)

Postseason: BCS(crappy year for games with 4 blowouts)

Exactly...you guys need to read around that list a little more often before going apesh!t over it.

The guy was clearly kicking around Michael Jackson song titles to fit the theme and thought about how LK would fit with "Wanna be Startin' Something" and decided we would be a good fit at the coveted and insencere #5 spot. Everyone calm down. Breathe in. Breathe out.

Its just the way it is most of the media wants to see Tennessee and Lane Kiffin fall flat on our face, I can't wait to see what their reaction is when Kiffin gets this thing turned around, they will probably all say that it was great and they all thought it was great.

Yes, of course, that's exactly what they want.

LOL, they had to put Kiffin's face on the list instead of the power T.

Not taking up for them, but it looks like they are just picking up from the end of last year instead of predicting this year.

"Bottom 10 law requires a team to win before it can beat it from the list."

Reading this list was a complete and total waste of time... CLK has brought a great deal of attention to the program. Not all of it has played well on at the national level and this guy is jumping on the bandwagon. What is hack doesn't understand is that our defense is good, the offense has added play makers and the team is far more disciplined this year.

Remember CLK and Eddie O know that any pub is good pub at this time!

The respect for the Tennessee football program must assuredly be at the lowest point in history. Never, even in the very lean years, have I so much negative crap about the Vols. How in the world did we ever fall so far from grace? Since Kiffin hasn't coached a single game you can't blame him. So my question is, would we be going through this crapstorm of negativity if Fulmer had been retained? No, I think not. So the whole situation seems to be an enigma, reminiscent of Catch 22.

Guys, the number five spot is reserved for things that they feel the need to ridicule. For example, ugly alternative uniforms.

As I have stated in other posts, I am so looking forward to Kiff and Co. giving these writers a giant Shi*burger to eat this season!!!:rock::rock:

Chill out, if they are right at the end of the year - then we will look stupid whining about this. So what if Kiffin has created attention, we have yet to do anything on the field to dispute this. Its an obvious poke at Kiffin. If we have a good season (and I think we can), then it will be all that sweeter to watch the media eat crow, and we won't have to deal with this anymore.

The media really is divided over the future of our program, but the optimists are wisely silent right now.

They save the #5 spot for somebody they want to make fun of. They don't really think UT is the 5th worst team in the country.

Its pretty simple actually. ESPN hates Tennessee. ESPN hates Lane Kiffin. But that is ok by me because we always tend to play better when we are the underdogs. I am cautiously hoping that we win at least 7 games this year. In my opinion, that would be a good season considering the lack of talent, last year's record, and the new coaching staff. Go Vols baby!

They used school logos except for us...I just don't know what that's supposed to mean but it's stupid nonetheless.
