I hope they all make it, but especially Bryson Eason. One of the guys you see in interviews who just seems like a good dude.
Eason has been in school for a long time, but he has the opportunity to get drafted high because he started at LB in college. And if he still shows the similar mobility that he had when he was a big LB - except now head 310 lbs- then teams will love that.

It doesn’t?
No. We see it in every draft almost. Players we have never heard of that come from bad teams get drafted. Think about it. Let’s say you are a DE from Acme University.
You are a stud. You are top 5 in the nation in sacks and tackles and are projected as the top pick at your position.

But your team can’t beat anyone with a pulse. That has nothing to do with how good you are. Football is the ultimate team sport.

yeah, it’s legitimately meaningless. Patrick Mahomes only made one bowl at Texas Tech, Josh Allen didn’t win anything notable at Wyoming, A&M had 2 losing seasons with Von Miller, hell Pitt's best season with Aaron Donald on the roster was only 8-5 lol.

it’s a team sport just like you said. A few elite playmakers can only take a team so far, you need good talent across the board.

Have to remember the Sugar Vols. How many of those guys got drafted?

And we didn’t beat a single DI team with a winning record. Make it make sense.
Well, Linebacker and Safety were atrocious. OL didn't run block. Dline couldn't disrupt and got pushed. Teams literally dared us to run on them, and we couldn't. Teams gashed us on the ground and then through the air.

Other teams were more talented and better coached. Ill say this, ŵe were slow on defense.

Chris Brazzell, II
Miles Kitselman
Bryson Eason
Joshua Josephs
Colton Hood (some projecting as 1st round pick)
Jermod McCoy (projected top 15 pick)

But, but what about Nico?? Shouldn't he be on this list...???

Bryson Eason class of 2020
Dom Bailey class of 2020
Tyre West class of 2022
All out of eligibility
Dang should’ve redshirted West his first year! He would be a beast in 2026 at a huge position of need
Got 4 solid years of play from him. A last minute flip from UGA.
We could only hope all our recruits turn out as successful.

Would have been nice for Dylan Sampson to form a lethal 1-2 punch with Bishop this year too.
And have James Pearce on defense.

No we have Tyron Weathersby in year 4 at 6'4" 263 lbs. And Marion Dye at 6'5 270 in year 2.

Loved West as he was a mean SOB, but I'm ready to see what Weathersby and Dye can do

You are probably right that we needed West his freshman year. I see that he played in 11 games. So to redshirt him, would have had to alter the rotation by not playing him in 7 of those games.

There is a a difference with Sampson and Pearce. They were both projected as draft picks, unlike West. That's why made my comment in the first place. Because he was left out of the combine and may not be drafted at all.

Kinda needed West that season. Would have been a convenience, but now you’re more likely to lose them in the portal if you don’t use them. So you’re redshirting for another program.

Ramped up to cartoon levels the last two, but yea it was a factor from 2022 on. I remember commenting on the importance of portal gains and being dismissed by the “realists”. Same mensas that create panic threads when we don’t land a Leavitt nowadays.

All’s good. I’m listening to my age. Fixing program problems is a young man’s game. 😏
