You want the 'hot coach' of the day without actually looking at what coach may or may not be capable of.

Chris Peterson's three seasons at Washington:

2014: 8-6
2015: 7-6
2016: Yes he is 7-0 but who have they really beat? One top ten team that is now 4-3 and not ranked?

Washington was 9-4, 7-6 and 7-6 in the three years before Peterson took over. Jury is still out on this year, but not really a lot of improvement the first two years. But yes he will probably win in what looks to be a very weak PAC 12 conference.

ditto.....I was there asking anyone who would listen, why aren't we knocking them OUT right now.......Most disagreed and said the smart play was to kick the conversion

Urban couldn't handle the pressure of the SEC. The Big 10 and the ACC are NOT the SEC. There is a reason why some coaches are in the conferences they are in. To believe that the three non SEC coaches would have the same level of success year in and year in the SEC is a stretch. If any of those coaches wanted to be in the SEC, there have been plenty of openings they could have applied for. They didn't. They have no desire to be in a conference with Saban.

Time changes perspective. We are still down from the beating we took at Alabama and that feeling is justified. Recent events will always have a greater bias than they generally deserve. Injuries have been a factor, but probably would not have changed the outcome. How would be feel if we had been at full strength on the offensive line and lost the game 31-17? No question Alabama is a better team than everyone right now, but let me share my prediction: Each week, we are getting a little more healthy. The team that will play South Carolina this week will be much better than the one that played Alabama. Weekly, our record will change to 6-2, 7-2, 8-2, 9-2 and 10-2. Florida will lose at least 1 more SEC game, possibly 2 and will also lose to FSU. (Not that it matters in the SEC, I just like it) Alabama will play tough games again LSU and the Iron bowl could conceivably be for the SEC West. Alabama lost a starting safety. What will the perception be for a Tennessee team that is much more healthy, winners of 5 straight and probably ranked about 9, 10, or 11 by the time of the SEC championship game. Does Alabama have any more injuries? Does Auburn or LSU pull off the upset? Will the Vols be motivated in a revenge game to give a better showing (we know the answer to this) As far as going to the playoffs, probably not, but it is still a possibility. Many of the teams listed, will fall by the wayside. If Ohio state loses to Michigan, they will not go with 2 losses if they are not big 10 champs. Nebraska will not be the big 10 champ. Either Michigan, OSU or Wisconsin, one of those three. Baylor and West Virginia will probably take a loss, but even if not, there is no guarantee they will go. For those that advocate Tennessee would be better winning out and let Florida win out and get beaten down by Alabama so that we can go to a better bowl, I disagree. We want to win the east and give the winner of the West our best shot. If we somehow win the SEC as an 11-2 winner, we may not go to the playoffs, but there will still be a lot of consideration for the SEC champs and I would not bet against us in that scenario.

True. I don't post much. Spend most of my time on the computer working, with a little bit of a break. Tough being a vol fan in Florida, but this year was worth it.

Don't know on JR but my guess is he'll play. I doubt CH will play but I'd say it's a toss up right now. He tweaked the same knee vs Bama that he had surgery on at the end of fall camp. My guess is he'll be dressed and ready to play but they will probably try to see if we can handle USCe without him to allow him to rest.

I know what you are thinking, but no I haven't researched it. Was hoping someone else might give an injury summation by position. By my meager memory, I know we have seen the 4th string running back playing, 3rd or 4th string cornerback at one side of the field, 3rd string safety playing , 3rd or fourth string linebacker, and either 3rd or probably 4th string right offensive tackle playing. I think at one of the defensive tackles we have to be at 4th team as well. Add to that the 3rd string punt returner - who by the way appears to be quite fond of letting the punt hit the ground and that's off the top of my head.

Just trying to understand the depth of the problem with injuries and I am sure we were down to third string at other offensive line positions and know we have lost some receivers. If someone could put something together I would appreciate it.
