Vols Injury Report

When the hell has that ever happened?

If anything we're due for a year of chaos at the end since everything has gone as expected the last few years on championship weekend.

If Tennessee goes 11-2 winning the SEC championship there is a 90+% chance we make the playoffs. It's highly unlikely that there will be 4 other conference champions with 0-1 losses.

And any perception we're not good goes out the window if we beat a 12-0 #1 ranked Alabama team. Alabama right now looks unbeatable. We beat them in Atlanta we'll get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to perception.

If Alabama loses the SECCG here is the CFP...

1 - Winner of Ohio St./Michigan will go.
2 - If Clemson wins out they will go.
3 - If Washington wins out they will go.
4 - If Louisville's only loss is to Clemson they will go.

Even if we were to beat Alabama in SECCG who is to say the CFP committee won't hold them in higher regard than us since they beat the socks off of us during regular season and we hardly look like one of the 4 best teams in the country.

I seriously think a 1 loss Ohio St./Michigan/Alabama could get a nod over us even if we won the SECCG.

If any of those teams slip up and Nebraska and/or Baylor run the table then they're next in line ahead of us.

I will gladly place a ban bet that we won't make it to the CFP.

Regardless of injuries our O scheme blows goats. We have yet to execute for a full 4 quarters on O thru 7 games. Pathetic.

I'll take 2 losses because we are lucky we don't have 4 at this point.

If Kamara is out the remainder of the season then our season depends on how DeBord adjusts the O. Will we go Power I to compliment Hurd? If not, Hurd will be useless and we will need to rely on the passing game. 😬

Kelly will pickup the slack. He is one year away being the Vols featured back if Kamara and Hurd do leave for the NFL.

Alabama
Ohio St.
Michigan
Clemson
Washington
Louisville
Nebraska
Baylor

You can add in a few more teams

West Virginia which is better than Baylor, but I think OK will beat them both.
Auburn
aTm
2 loss FSU if they beat Clemson
Florida still only has one loss but that will change

Who is the best 2 loss team according to the committee? Tennessee, FSU, Wisconsin?

Nope. Still here, unlike your good friend D4H who said he "hoped Florida would skull **** us" and then quit on the team... Im tired of the bad luck. And bad OL coaching.

You're still here yes.

I think you always said, "As, long as we win, I'll be happy and won't complain."

Now that we're 5-2, all you can do is gripe about injuries. It's actually weird how much you talk about injuries.

People don't think you're a horrible poster becuase they "can't handle the truth." They think you're a horrible poster, because you're a horrible poster.

SEC East is still in sight, and like it or not, that was the realistic expectations coming into this year.

If you think CBJ was supposed to come in and within his first full recruiting cycle, take an SEC bottom dweller - one that was stripped down to a C-USA talent level - and win a national championship, then you are the one that had the unrealistic expectations.

Throw in over 10+ injuries to starters - including 3 of our 4 captains, and multiple All-SEC players - and this is what you get.

Some of you guys are completely over-reacting to the loss to BAMA - and they are BY FAR the best team/program in CFB right now.

Butch recruited to do the exact thing you said we are crazy to expect. Dudes not a good coach.

If we win our last 5 games, we will be in the Top 8 minimum before SEC title game. That's guaranteed. The big 12 undefeateds will lose. Auburn loses to Alabama, FSU loses to Clemson. Nebraska and Wisconsin will lose one time each.

If we are in top 8, make the SEC vs Bama (who will be number 1), and win, we will get 4th spot in playoffs. No one should be rooting for LSU to beat Bama. Only way we make playoffs as a 2 loss team is to beat a number 1 Bama in conference title game. Then the playoff committee has to pick Us or Bama for number 4 spot.

Which coaches do you think could've taken Tennessee from where we were, when Coach Jones was hired, to the place we are now?

Saban. Harbaugh, Urban, Petrino.... to name a few. We have lost 5-7 games under Butch due to coaching malpractice. To put it this way, no coaches dread going up against Butch. That's a fact.

Wow, Saban, Urban, Harbaugh, Petrino. Those are some very good coaches. I agree, only a handful of the best coaches in the country could have done what Jones has accomplished with this program so far.

For those crying about Butch just quit already, we are 5-2 and besides Bama this year we have been in every game we have played going on 2 years now. It hasn't all been pretty but it is obvious we have come a long way under coach Jones and this staff. We still have a good shot at the east and if we can get healthy down the stretch here we could very well finish 10-2 and play for the SEC Championship. Yes we got whipped by bama pretty good but when one looks at just how many players we had out that game it was just the worst timing to be playing them. Not that we would have won if we were close to healthy but the score would have been much closer. In our other loss, I am convinced that if we were both equally healthy we would beat the aggies but either way we are pretty even overall I believe with them when both at full strength. All we can do is buckle down and win the rest of our games, our strength of schedule to this point stacks up with the best of them. Everything is still on the table for the Vols even a long shot playoff chance if everything were to fall perfect. A very good chance of winning the east title which is a big goal and a great achievement no matter what, and a chance to play for the SEC Championship. Plenty of reason for us to buckle up the chinstraps and get to work!!!!! GBO!!!!!

Chris Petersen was who I wanted when we made the last 3 hires. Nobody thought he would leave Boise State. He did.

Gary Patterson might have been another. That is, if we could have gotten either of them.

That is not to say I prefer them over Butch, I don't. Just answering you question.

We ran the offense last year and Hurd wasn't useless. When you play from behind it makes the running game a bit useless because you have to throw the ball.

The real question. Can CBone handle the truth?

Butch has won his last 7 division games. The year before Butch we won 1 out of 6. He has cleared all hurdles except the West, and I am hopeful that he clears that one soon, too.

Given where this program was just five years ago, I don't know how you can't enjoy success for a change. A 10-win season is in reach. And a 10-win season is always a good year given the schedule that we play.

Jones, on the whole, has been a great asset to UT. His strength is that he loves the program and is a good recruiter. His weakness is that our offensive coaching has been a bit suspect and he has absolutely no balls in late-game situations. Didn't we have a chance to score two points from the 1.5 yard line after our last TD against A&M, with 40 seconds left? We get it and we take the lead? If it were me, I'm taking that chance.
