I don't post much here, but read everyday. Had to share though that this thread has me in tears. Conrhole? I figured it wasn't a queer thing as I have never met or known of a queer vol. I really thought it might be some reference to kicking Kiffin's a**. Either way, LMAO all the way to tears in my eyes. Hope you guys have a great weekend up there. Go Vols!

P.S. Oregon is a great state, but much like Tennessee it has a cornhole of a city that leaves a nasty brown eye. We call ours Memphis.

We (Coast Guard) fly over the beaches in that area everyday. Everytime you go to the beach, you should draw a huge "T" in the sand. If I see it, I will make sure we fly a couple circles around you at low altitude.

Uh...from all I've heard, Portland is an awesome, beautiful city with low crime and plenty of stuff to do.
From what I heard it is a liberalized city that dominates legislation throughout the state to serve it's own interest. Much like Seattle does Washington or Chicago does Illinois. But, if I have been misinformed, I apologize, please forgive. I was really just trying potshot Memphis anyway.

Sam, what's your address? since I'm local I'll take you up on it. BTW, my neighbors are coasties.......Ashley, Jenna, and used to be Bianca. Plus I think Jenna dates Filipe....you know any of those guys?

I shot you a PM with my address. I know Filipe, we work together at the Air Station. I know the girls but I don't talk to them much because the work in another department on base. I haven't put together an exact time yet on when people are going to start coming over but as soon as I do I will let you know. Its going to be a good time. Hope you don't mind watching with a guy that yells at the TV every other play! :)

regardless of its politics, Portland is the jewel of Oregon (and probably the NW in general). Great city for outdoorsmen, great city for music, and great city for beer and wine. Got a nice NBA following here.....the only thing it is missing is a true Football culture like my beloved south....

Have you been here before? I have been to Tenn (seen 48 states) and it is a lovely state but I wouldn't short change Oregon which happens to be one of the best places in this country......imo. Anyone who has done a little sightseeing knows that. The cool thing about Oregon is we have many types of environments. All beautiful in their different ways. The ocean, sand dunes, coastal mountain range, valleys, tons of rivers and lakes, temperate rain forests, Cascade mountain range which is home to some of the best outdoor sports around/year round (same can be said for the whole state pretty much). The fishing/hunting is great. The high desert along with plateaus and other mountains. Too much to do here. Just saying......

I have cousins who live really close to Mt. Hood in Oregon. I went out to visit them not too long ago. Oregon really is a beautiful state. We went backpacking up in the Wallowas, it was awesome.

Yes, unfortunately as much as I want to beat the Ducks head in this year, I must admit that Oregon is a pretty nice state. The only thing that I have found myself absolutely hating is that it is only one of two (New Jersey being the other one) that by law you are not allowed to pump your own gas. An attendant has to do it for you. IT DRIVES ME CRAZY! :banghead2:

Man, I'm originally from West Tennessee, (around Reelfood Lake). We used to play cornhole when I was a kid (8 or 9). We didn't have a lot of money so we did what we had to do. Now it's international. Go figure.
Anyway, what a fantastic gesture my man. I can't be there but it sounds like a party. Have a good time and
GO VOLS!

Yea you should have seen the guys face at the lumber mill when he asked me what I was making with the material I was buying. :yikes:

You should just come up with another name for it...... ANY OTHER NAME!!!!!!!!!

Coos Bay/North Bend is one pretty red neck part of the state. The boys down there just might really start wondering about you.

Of course, thank you for your service. I know the Oregon coast can get pretty nasty and I greatly appreciate what you do. Take care, be safe.

And if you do play golf, you've got to get to Bandon while you are down there. Sure its spendy, but those are some of the best golf course in the country that the average guy can play.
