I figured a thread to talk about our combine representatives might be a good distraction from all the other crap. Players have been weighed and measured.

@VinceSports Vols player measurements & workout days at the #NFLCombine :
OLB Curt Maggitt (6'3, 247) Sat
WR Marquez North (6'2, 223, 10 1/4" hands) Sun

What kind of numbers do you think these guys put up in the 40, bench, shuttle, etc.?

How many years were we told that North was 6'4"? What happened to him?

This seems to happen a lot at the combine, especially with WRs it seems like. CP was listed as 6'3 or 6'4 and showed up a hair under 6'2 just off the top of my head.

Justin Hunter did turn out to be every bit of 6'4 though.

The biggest shocker to me was Pearson. He was listed at 6'3 when he first got on campus. Last year they put him down at 6'0 even....3 inches. Lol.

Do we know if either of these guys are healthy enough to participate fully in the combine? Can't see Maggitt doing any of the running yet?

I wonder if they measure in cleats. Or measure at all. My hs team didn't. But of course that's hs.

At my HS on picture day they gave you a form to fill out your own profile. I would look at the weights and heights in the game program and shake my head at some of the measurable numbers my friends listed.

Maggitt was still walking with a cane at the end of November at least. I doubt he runs at all and, if he does, I seriously doubt he sniffs a 4.7

I was listening to an NFL GM yesterday and he said the most important parts of the Combine are the physical and interview. All the other stuff isn't taken that seriously. They've already watched film on most of these players and know if they can play, or not. Vertical jump and 40 time, that's all part of the "made for TV" aspect of the Combine.

As a Titan's fan I can tell you combine numbers can get you drafted.

Plus the building wouldn't be loaded with NFL scouts watching the drills if it wasn't important.

North repped 225 lbs 17 times today. Tied for 5th among WRs. Tops was 20 reps, bottom was 14. Right in the middle for him. Really curious to see what he runs. Wish him the best after a difficult last two years at UT.

I thought the QB's, TE's, & WR's weren't expected until tomorrow(Saturday)?

Anyhow, if Maggitt is able to go I predict his 40 time 4.58, 20 reps in bench. North's 40 time will be 4.48 & his bench reps 15.

I'm afraid your going to be let down by those 2, 40 times.

What?

NFL Events: Combine Top Performers

North already did the bench. 17 reps

It was my understanding that the QB's, TE's,& WR's worked out on Saturday. The RB's & OL worked out today. How does this stuff work then with the WR's doing bench press today when they're scheduled for tomorrow? The LB's & DL are scheduled for Sunday & DB's on Monday. What am I missing about this scheduling?
