Vols in Texas

Lived in San Antone and now College Station. It ain't God's country but I've grown to dig TX. Met a guy from Houston that's a big Aggie. When he found out where I went to school he tells me his neighbor is a big Vol fan("Plays that dang song all day Sat., puts up flags...are y'all all like that?). Said he'd been trying to get this guy to CS for a game for years but the guy would never leave b/c the Vols were on. Finally gets the guy on an off week to come. Aggie'd been talking up the renovations and additions to Kyle Field-new jumbotron, capacity to near 85,000, etc. Said the Vol walked in, took a look around, turned to the Aggie and said "cute". Aggie's still pissed.

My cable provider quit offering ESPN GamePlan a couple of years ago. Last year, they added support for ESPN3.com (ESPN 360) though, so I watched all the Vol games there for free. Now, if ESPN GamePlan was made available again, I wouldn't consider repurchasing it unless it was offered in HD.

I realize this is a long shot, but are there any other Vol fans in El Paso? It sucks when you wear a Power T hat and stupid people here think its texas cause they don't know their own team. I have to make sure I wear something that says Tennessee or Vols on it. I go to the texas vs the nation game every year and there are always a couple of TN players(crompton started last year, did a decent job probably helped him get into the NFL), never seen any fans though. Just curious if I am right to assume I am alone here.

I live in Killeen and know what you mean. I have a lot of Tennessee gear and get the same thing. Hang in there brother, we Tennessee folks are all over the place, just keep the faith!!!! On my way to Knoxville today to visit my family before I head out to the big sand box!!! Will be updating my Tennessee wardrobe while I am there. You can never find any Tennessee gear in Tex-ass.

El Paso could be the worst city in the country. I would prefer to give it to Mexico as it looks like part of it already.

keep wearing it brother, some tn guy will notice you from a hundred yards away and be dying just like you to talk to someone from tn.... been all over.. i make it a point to wear tn stuff, esp at airports or anywhere there's a crowd....

Lol, this probably doesn't actually come from el paso but if it does, its the best thing to ever come out of here. That's not saying a whole lot. Lol at the rips on el paso. I didn't know anybody even knew this place existed.

If you google UT, you will get University of Texas listed first always. I'm not a Texas fan by any means (RTR), and if Tn makes it to the NC against Texas I would pull for UT over Texas.But outside of the SEC UT is first thought of as Texas.

What really ticks me off are the Pronghorn bumper stickers with our logo - the interlocked O&W "UT". Aren't Pronghorns creative enough to invent their own logo instead of stealing ours? I guess not. :the_finger:

You obviously haven't been to Fayetteville, NC (Fort Bragg) That is the worst by far.

BTW, I am living in Houston now. (Haven't updated my profile yet) Does anyone know if there are any alumni clubs here that get together to watch games?
