Or the Celtics run of championships in the 60's.
The Pat's are on a great run but I dont know about the greatest ever.
You don't watch many sports talk shows on TV, do you? If you think I'm the first, or even the hundredth, person to trot out the idea that they're the greatest dynasty, you're living under a rock.New York Yankees 27 World Series titles. Pats 5 Super Bowls. You say you hate lies. Then why would you post them ??
So your statement,”greatest dynasty in the HISTORY of professional sports,” is not true, is it ? 27 vs 5 LOL. Get back to us when they win 22 more. Perhaps you will write us another one of your boring thesis. You don't watch many sports talk shows on TV, do you? If you think I'm the first, or even the hundredth, person to trot out the idea that they're the greatest dynasty, you're living under a rock.
See if you can grasp this difficult concept: the 27 titles of the Yankees came over a 76-year period; the five titles of the Patriots came over a sixteen-year period. They're favored to win their sixth in twelve days, which would be six in eighteen years. They will have played in nine of the last nineteen Super Bowls.
Another high-level intellectual gambit for you: eighteen of the twenty-seven titles for the Yankees, or 66% of all their titles, came when there were only eight teams in the league; all of the Patriots' titles came when there were thirty-two teams in the league, along with a salary cap that has effectively kept every other NFL franchise from even sniffing a dynasty. The most titles the Yankees have ever won in a sixteen-year period since league expansion in 1961 is...five, from 1996 to 2009. I don't know a lot about MLB but I'm pretty sure there is no salary cap; I know there wasn't one when the Yankees won their last title (ten years ago).
The Browns won four championships from 1950 through 1964; the most teams they were in a league with for any of said titles was fourteen. The Celtics won nine titles between 1956 and 1966; four of those were in a league comprised of eight teams, and the other five were in a league of nine teams.
You said greatest dynasty in the history of professional sports. You did not say there had to be parameters set such as a certain amount of teams in each league. You don't watch many sports talk shows on TV, do you? Yep,some have said it's the greatest but some also have mentioned what we did of previous teams that can claim greatest ever.
Hey, you're a Pat's fan and you think that. That's fine. Just some of us can think they are not the greatest ever and that's fine also.
No need to wonder MightyVol . It’s always about the money. NFL is a for profit business. Those ref’s work for the NFL. Not even a backyard ref would have missed that. As I’ve said before, just like pro wrestling, everybody sees it except the referee. NFL is rotten to its core. Players can play their hearts out but crooked refs determine final scores.Refs were past bad in that game. How three refs looking directly at the most egregious example of pass interfere all missed it makes you wonder. Good luck to Kelly but I won't be watching it.
You really trot out lies with no shame, don't you? I already revealed how idiotic your argument was. No one with a shred of intelligence or honesty would try to argue that titles won in an eight-team league equal titles won in a 32-team league; but you're counting on anyone who reads this thread not reading my post that picked your argument apart. You've made very clear who the liar in this thread is.So your statement,”greatest dynasty in the HISTORY of professional sports,” is not true, is it ? 27 vs 5 LOL. You are 100% correct that everyone is entitled to his own opinion; I never said otherwise. I'm not the poster who started the ad hominem crap accusing me of being a liar (I recognize that that was not you, and am not blaming you for such). You said greatest dynasty in the history of professional sports. Was I the one that told a lie, then wrote volumes to try to cover my tracks ? You remind me of the attorney representing the tobacco industry. Condescending bully’s such as you are always fun and easy MARKS. LmboYou really trot out lies with no shame, don't you? I already revealed how idiotic your argument was. I already proved you're the liar, and yet you persist, as though saying something enough times makes it true. You don't bother trying to counter anything I have written that disproved your argument, because you know you can't; you know as well as anyone that a title in an eight-team league is not the same as one in a thirty-two-team league. You throw around lies as though they're cotton candy, with no meaning, no effect on anything, as though your words don't affect other people. Yes, this is a message board; that doesn't make a willful lie any less of a lie.Was I the one that told a lie, then wrote volumes to try to cover my tracks ? It never fails. Call a bully out and he suddenly becomes the victim. Whatever you say mark. P.S. thanks for worrying about my soul, but I’ll be ahight.I already proved you're the liar, and yet you persist, as though saying something enough times makes it true. Unfortunately, I think you are right. I haven't watched the NFL in years but we had friends over and they want to watch the game. I wouldn't waste my time watching it now for sure. I honestly think the refs were part of ensuring a Ram victory. I know one thing being from Louisiana, they will not forget and I'd advise three refs in particular to definitely not visit south Louisiana for the foreseeable future! No need to wonder MightyVol . But that is setting parameters because those teams could not help how many teams were in the leagues at the time. Also, they are recognized by their respective leagues as champions so it does count. You are 100% correct that everyone is entitled to his own opinion; I never said otherwise. I'm not the poster who started the ad hominem crap accusing me of being a liar (I recognize that that was not you, and am not blaming you for such).
To use the term, "parameters" distorts the discussion by implying I had found minutiae by which to reduce the argument to semantics. Pointing out that all of the teams other posters referenced as dynasties superior to the Patriots, won most of their titles when the leagues they were in were still in the inchoate stages is not semantics; it is basic common sense, and simple intellectual honesty. To say that a title won in a league of eight teams is the same level of accomplishment as a title won in a league of thirty-two teams is not an expression of opinion, but rather a willful rejection of the truth; it is no more valid than UCF's anointing themselves national champions a year ago because they won all their games playing inferior competition.
As long as Brady and or Bellichek are in a SB or any game for that matter, this Vol fan cannot come close to watching them, unless the Pack is back playing against them. Looking forward to watching Super Bowls again in the not so distant future. Someone knock Brady's arm off, please!
Here is a direct quote from a post I made earlier in this thread:Amen brother. I think your opinion is the majority. Seems like we have wound up this guy who seems to think everyone is a liar for having an opinion.
You are 100% correct that everyone is entitled to his own opinion; I never said otherwise.
