Vols in Orange helmets this year?

at this point in my life it does not matter, I have been a traditionalist for the most part and have held onto the basic style idea, but honestly.. I do not care anymore. They can wear a tutu with orange and white polka-dot leotards for all I care just as long as we are winning. Wear whatever you want Men..

Go Vols!

That's really my attitude too. The unis are for the players. If they like it, I like it. Sure, I've got my opinions, but pictures of me from the 80s and 90s indicate that no one should listen to me.

There is nothing "traditional" about the Battle at Bristol. If there's a game to break out something crazy, this is it.

I'm not a big fan of the gray. I was too far from the field to see it during that Ga game, but when I watched the replay and saw the subtle image of the silhouettes of the Smoky Mountains on the helmets, I was impressed. That swayed me.

If you could come up with a similar look to what South Carolina did when they went back to their red helmets last year I might be interested. Why in the world did SC ever go to white helmets when their red helmets looked that good. Not an SC fan, to be sure, but just saying... I thought their red helmets and red jerseys looked really good!

Gray helmets, gray pants and gray jersey should be worn together...period. I like the orange helmet once in a while but I think it would look best with white jersey and orange pants, so basically a road alternate.

DP, I love you, man... And 99.99% of the time you're spot on... But you also told us last summer that we wouldn't see a smoky grey helmet and that our NIKE number font was hideous, which caused an offseason freak out, bro.

You're probably right, and I will most definitely catch a lot of crap from people who have misinterpreted this statement. But I do think we can all agree that the UTAD keeps this stuff pretty secretive, otherwise you would have known that the number font was badass and that we would have grey lids.

I said no such thing. In fact, the opposite. I said that adidas had designed a gray helmet and we had chosen not to order it. I also said that Nike had designed one to be worn with the Smokey Grey and that I expected they would not allow us to decline it.

As for the number font, I still think it sucks. But it doesn't suck as much as the first design of it, which was ultimately rejected after much debate. The first design was much closer to the Arkansas/Baylor fonts.

Thank you for that, pal. Look, we get it...you work in the UTAD. I can't sit here and act like I'm not 100% appreciative of the insight that you have provided and continue to provide. I think it's fantastic, and you have proven yourself to be a reliable source time and time again.

My point was simply made to highlight the secrecy that the school keeps in regards to our uniform design and all that goes along with it (helmet, number font, color of cleats, etc, etc).

I think last summer was a good indication of such, when nobody leaked the mock ups of our Nike uni's, which is common in both NCAA and professional sports. During this time even you, DeerPark12, were admittedly incorrect in regards to our new uniforms.

With other reliable sources (Brent Hubbs, Jayson Swain) who keep close ties to the football program for a living indicating that this is a realistic possibility, I will simply use my own judgement based upon past instances from both sides.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, my personal opinion is that the orange alternate helmet might be on the horizon in Big Orange Country.

If anyone thinks orange jerseys on gray pants would look good, they need to look at the baseball team on Saturdays on the road. It's beyond hideous.

I never said orange helmets weren't a possibility. I said not to bet on seeing orange helmets with gray jerseys at Bristol.

All I heard was Orange helmets are possible.
Tell them I want the Chromazone and Black too, with them we can keep the Power T orange. That keep all the traditionalist happy.

Winning the National Championship in Tampa will also help.

Sacrilege.

Why do people have to dick around with the uniforms. The top teams have classics, and the wannabes like Oregon think fashion more important. It's ORANGE AND WHITE - in the historically proper places - just not that damn difficult.

Oh here we go with this. Yes, the top teams have classics and so do we. But most everyone, top teams included have, or have had, some type of alternate. Some are more subtle than others but it's happened at some point.

Justsaynotojorts had a long list of what you mentioned back on page 5.

The egg was broken last year, break out Chromazone and let's get "Back in Black".
