Vols in Ohio?

Glad to find someone else from Dayton. Thanks for your service to the country and at Wright Patt. You're stuck in Northmont territory, home of the track coaches that sleep with 17 year olds. I'm down here in Centerville. Go Flyers and Go Vols!

Apparently Northmont's football coaches sleep with 17 year olds too. Anyway, you and Ydfalcon are actually pretty close to me. My parents moved to Beavercreek a few years back. I'm actually here now for a few days. Such a boring city though.

edit: nevermind, didn't realize the guy was football AND track coach.

Some of my best friends are big osu fans... But I thank God that I never became one. Is it just me or do they seem to be a bit more obnoxious and have more of a holier than thou attitude about being buckeye fans than most other schools?

(In general, that is. Some people are perfectly normal Ohio State supporters, and I'm happy to let them be. It just seems that osu has a greater annoying fan to normal fan ratio than other schools.)

I have to agree with you on that. That and hearing Chris Spielman on the radio is enough to drive any new person to hate OSU. Sports radio here in Columbus is just brutal!

Anyone who disputes the idea that linebackers are idiots needs to listen to Spielman's radio show and then look at Matt Millen's track record as a GM.

And you're on a campus surrounded by people that are, for the most part, Ohio State fans first and (at best) BGSU second.

If the two played in football at the Doyt, there'd be an awful lot of students who'd bust out the scarlet and gray.

There is nothing to do in Dayton period, whether it is Centerville, Beavercreek, or anywhere else.

I can remember a time around here when a call out to Ohio would've drawn maybe two responses.

Now look at little ole VN... she's all grown up..:cray:

Yep. I'm always bored out of my mind when I come here. Still, I applied for a job in Dayton that would be too good to pass up if offered. At least Columbus is about an hour away.

I live up in Englewood, so I am very familiar with Northmont. I remember the the first night I spent up there in the house, I went to Krogers to load up the fridge and I walk in wearing my Tennessee orange and this middle-aged man walks up to me and asks me if I knew if Northmont won thier game (at the time I had no idea who Northmont was) and I replied to him, "does it look like I know anything about Northmont"? He looked at my shirt and said "actually no, probablt not but thank you"

I moved to NW Ohio 5 years ago:crazy: And I am surrounded by UM TOSU and ND fans. Please Tell me their are other Vols here, and where might I find Alumni Hangouts etc.?

ND fans are the worst! I live in Fort Wayne, Indiana and there are no vol fans here except me. I have to argue with doomers all the time. SUCKS!!

Yeah I actually just got back from there and the bar for a bit after. Pretty good for a free concert. Were you there?

Don't I know it. Toledo is playing OSU in Cleveland this year, and it's supposed to be a Toledo home game, just in a bigger stadium to allow for more ticket sales. But as far as home field advantage is considered, Toledo doesn't have a prayer of feeling like they're at home. It's just going to be an OSU game in Cleveland, with the Rockets happening to be wearing their home uniforms.

I was there as well. It was pretty good. Got there right as the opening act finished their last song, but was still able to find a spot not too far back. Hard to argue with a free concert.

Yeah I was there. That sure is crazy there were 3 of us VN's at the same place tonight :). There were these Florida fans in the front right by the stage that kept holding up a Florida pennant and doing the gator chomp to the band... I yelled out GO VOLS right to their face and they looked at me like I was crazy.

Not getting that. Gaytorland is much further away than Volunteer land.

The NCs have gotten the bandwagon fans out I guess. I also think Sister Hazel's from Gainesville if that had anything to do with it.

Yeah, that is crazy though that 3 of us VNers were there. We should've tried to meet up for a minute and a beer.

Ohio State is only 0-10 against the SEC in bowl games, sadly for yall they have a winning record against SEC teams in reg season games (7-2) so technically they are 7-12 overall against the SEC

You might consider revising this to reflect something within the past decade or so.

Are those stats not correct?

And I attended grad school at OSU after graduating from UT. Cant go wrong with either school, quality wise. Whether most UT fans (or OSU fans even) want to admit it or not, the fan bases are damn near IDENTICAL when it comes to passion and homerism. Both have their idiots, their our-team-can-do-no-wrong types, and their great college football fans.

Whether you hate the football team or not, it's a great choice. I had a blast. Get ready for the best 4+ years of your life.

I went to Ohio State for a year, then transfered down to Athens. I must say I had much more fun at OU as opposed to OSU. But that is just me. :dunno:
