Vols Hire Darin Hinshaw per Drew Edwards

facts are facts. Been a vol fan since the day I was born. I will support the coach that leads my Volunteers. I have full faith in their mission and their capabilities. I believe the players wearing orange and white are the best in the country. I will support them in victory as well as in defeat. I believe every year is the year of the VOLS! If every vol was a 1 star recruit doesnt matter to me. If every coach came from peewee football so be it! These are our coaches, these are our players! this is TENNESSEE! Noone will ever take that from me! We will thrive!!!!!
BIG WELCOME to all the new coaches, players and even fans. See you on game day! GO VOLS!

Just some info on Hinshaw

Hinshaw, 37, was a record-setting quarterback at the University of Central Florida and spent the last three seasons as wide receivers coach at Memphis.

He joined the Memphis staff after serving one season as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Georgia Southern under former head coach Brian VanGorder. In 2006, Georgia Southern ranked 27th nationally in total offense, averaging 359.9 yards per game.

Hinshaw worked at Middle Tennessee for five seasons before coaching at Georgia Southern. He was the running backs coach his first two seasons before being promoted to co-offensive coordinator in February 2003.

The Punta Gorda, Fla., native set numerous school records while playing for the Knights. He finished as the career leader in every major passing category, including yards (9,000) and touchdowns (82).

Hinshaw was named in 2004 to UCF's 25th Anniversary Team

Perfect hire for Tennessee....TECH!

This is what kills me....yahoo's like yourself and plenty others trying to dictate what we can and cannot say or think.

I'm sorry to inform you, but I don't answer to a single damn person on this board. At the end of the day, you and I are just Joes with an Opinion...that's it. You ain't running the show, and you ain't laying down the terms.
Capeesh?

My expectations are the same as every year. Alot of people here believe our program is in the toilet for at least 5 yrs. I for one will always believe in this program! That is why I am a Tennessee fan.

This is the same mentality that has allowed our program to slip into mediocrity over the past 8 yrs. Wake up people, we can be fans and still question the moves that are being made. The fan who is upset over the Dooley hire are the fans who are passionate about this team. If I did not love the Vols this HC hire and the hire from today would not bother me.

So a fan can't look at this and be cautiously optimistic?

I have never in my life seen a bigger bunch of disruptive supposed Vol fans who think they know more than a coach.

They, undoubtedly, are complete failures in their own lives and want everyone else to FAIL too!

You know who you are!

But we have a very smart head coach and I think he'll be ok after he gets this thing going it is just going to take some time.We don't have to have a superstar staff to be successful just one that is smart, hungry and wants to win.

Im pretty sure top shelf players are required also. These guys might be able to bring them in for a winning program, but it's gonna be a hard sell for one that's down like TN is now.In the same conference as FL and bama, only thing they can sell to these recruits right now is the university, and it's past success. That past wont mean much to 4-5* player's looking for just one thing, the NFL.I know the great coaches have to start somewhere.Thing is for all the sabans, myers out there that are the real deal,MANY just don't cut it.Does TN really want to be the testing ground for coaches that have won 5 games a year at some school that is no where near SEC level?

believing in my vols and coaches is the mentality that has allowed this program to slip? wtf? I blame noone for being upset about the things that are going on, BUT they are now our coaches. Nothing we can say or do will change that. We need to embrace them and show our support. Our vols will need us in the stands now more than ever. The other coaches are gone and will be dealt with. The new coaches are now VOLS. we must accept it, heal, and move on. After this Season we will come back and either have more hate or absolutely love the new coaches. Nothing short of Championships is expected. Same as any year, no matter the coach.

A lot of you yahoos dissing this hire probably just loved Trooper Taylor. He coached where before coming to Tennessee? New Mexico? Baylor? Tulane? Real top of the pile experience, huh?

I agree and I wonder how many position coaches they could name from last year's top 25 teams since name recognition seems to be so important?

Dooley better have his jewelers license because he is going to need it. We will be recruiting lumps of goal and he is going to have to turn them into diamonds, if he is to be successful.

I truly hope this hire surprises me, but as of right now as each day passes and more and more recruits drop us and the hiring of some of this staff, it disgusts me to the bone.

Agree 100%. Dooley is the one who recommended Kirby Smart and Muschamp to Saban when both were unknown. Dooley has a knack for finding smart young coaching talent.

I tend to agree with this part of your post... The constant questioning of everything is just ridiculous..

If he is so great at finding young coaching talent explain how he went 4-8 last year in his 3rd yr as HC? Also tell me how many schools went after this hidden coaching talent he left behind at La Tech? Wait for it, wait for it, yes there is the answer none. The only schools interested in his previous staff is the man who hired them which is running our program now.
