Vols have high hopes for trio of WR signees

Hopefully at least a couple will step up so Byrd and Jennings can move to defense

Jennings ain't going to defense imo. He's desperately needed as our #1 WR this year. Without him, we return 37 catches and 2 tds at the WR position, and that assumes Byrd returns to the offense. Without Byrd, the number drops to 22. No, JJ has to stay at WR imo, especially with a brand new starting qb.

Why move your #2 WR to Defense with a new QB?

Makes little to no sense

his natural position is corner..to me he waisted his time on offense..they didn't use him good last year..look at how many corners was hurt last year imagine if he was playing defense

Hopefully one of these guys can replace Byrd's 3 touches a game so he can move to defense

Apparently the letter "J" fits with our WR recruiting profile

Josh
Jordan
Jaquez
Josh Malone
Josh Smith
J. Jennings
Jeff George

With Jarrett spinning balls to them and Brandon Johnson, it could be that Jones names team 121 Big J Airways, even without Josh Malone. Thank you Jesus!

Because he's not an established #2 WR. Kinda bestowed by default by some on here. Whatever new QB wins the job has zero chemistry with our WRs at this point. If our coaches feel his potential is greater on defense, the path is clear.

This post makes no sense. Byrd belongs in the secondary, particularly at CB. Look at his stats. Most targets he had in a game was 5, against TAMU. Over the course of the season he averages 1.8 touches per game on offense. Put him in the secondary, and let him return punts and kicks. Put a package in for him offensively, but to leave him solely on offense and only allow him 2 touches a game is a waste of talent.

I said the same thing..he didn't get touches like that last season to say that he will be a superstar on offense why waist that talent when you can put him on defense..he will make plays

The Flying "J's"!

Ha ha, I love my Tennessee Vol brothers and sisters. All good stuff this morning.

The "Fly" route for the "Flying" J's

and then the hitch/button hook/curl route pattern they run to make the shape of their initials/ letter "J" for the "J's."

Pilot Flying J could have a commercial of the "Flying J's" running their routes on a map and instead of catching a football, they stop into a Pilot Flying J and catch a product. Then everyone cheers and the logo comes up with a strong call to action to visit the website for a special promo coupon or to stop in the store.

(The "Fly" route is also called a "Go" route so the ad can make mention of Pilot Flying J helps you win on the "Go" -- You know "go" as in travel, etc.)

So you incorporate the use of athletes into the branding and it's a win/win/win for the customers and the company and the players who get exposure.

Since they are still currently students, it can be an "internship" type project where they get college credit and experience to avoid any red tape with the NCAA.

Pilot Flying J can then put it into their portfolio as a way they help college students get experience.

The possibilities are limitless.

(But don't get me involved unless you want it to prosper. See, the way I see it, if without a vision people perish, then with vision a people prosper.)

:)

Go Vols!

I just wonder, why are so many on here wanting to see Byrd on defense? If he has defensive experience, I've missed it.

he was a all-American corner out of high school..most schools wanted him as a corner..shut down type like a Patrick Peterson type corner who can do everything

I would rather see Byrd on D also but if he stays on offense I guarantee he sees more targets. He was a Freshman behind 3 other WRS last year how many touches would you expect?

These guys are studs, and they comprise a real solid set of WR's for this class. Can't wait to see them take the field.

@UT Hill Man, One thing really stood out to me with the fine female in your avi pic...

is she wearing an Alabama hat :eek:lol:
