I would say he would be a vicious hitter. Would probably sacrifice his body too much and end up getting hurt.

Pickens wasn't too happy being told to play defense. Didn't he have the nickname the "Dude with a 'tude" ?

I remember Phil fulmer using Mark Jones like that. He was a special player for UT. He had a great game against the Dawgs in 03. Dude could do it all

He was recruited as a QB...

It's been a lot of years but as I recall Doug Dickey used to recruit HS QBs and fit them in at a lot of different positions on the team. His comment (again as I recall) was that they were typically the best players on HS teams. Times have changed, so the same concept might or might not work these days; recruiting in particular has virtually become a profession rather than a coach's judgment/intuition.

Watch JJ on the first play of the 4th qtr. (Kamara's TD).
Jauan put some hurt on big #78 for GA.
Trent Thompson 309lbs.
Jennings is a BEAST!

A spectator at Monday's Knoxville Quarterback Club meeting didn't ask the question to Tennessee defensive backs coach Willie Martinez in jest:

"Have you ever considered playing (sophomore wide receiver) Jauan Jennings on defense?"

A one-word answer followed.

"Yes," Martinez said, generating some applause from the crowd at Calhoun's on the River.

Martinez then continued: "It always comes up. He's one of our best special teams players, but we're always concerned about injury and wearing him out."

"It all comes down to injuries," Martinez said. "There are a handful of other guys like that as well. If Jauan goes down, you take that chance of not having him.

"But yes, it has been in discussions."

With Sutton out, I might have considered it a viable option. After that catch? I would rather we see what all the walk on guys can do before we go there now.

And to think I wondered why we needed so many QBs in his class.
