Vols Going with Nike

Not trying to show anyone anything. Just a matter of taste. I don't tend to wear tacky things.

To each his own.
I, on the other hand, wear something that shows my support daily regardless of the company that produces the hat or shirt.
It's about Tennessee not the company to me.

In what way? Honest question.

It's all about perception. Recruits love Nike. It's why Butch had been selling recruits on the switch on the recruiting trail. Several high profile recruits were also tweeting about the switch to Nike a few months back. Butch understands winning takes good recruits, and he's doing all he can to get them! Rap music and a dj at games, and now Nike.

Butch gets it!

Confirms what butch had been telling recruits. This is a huge bonus for recruiting!

I'm not sure which is more pathetic: that a recruit might choose a school based on what apparel company it uses, or that a school might change it's vender based on what recruits want.

Nike sucks. I'd rather go with anyone else. They make crap that costs a buck in China and charge 100+ here. Recruits see nothing beyond brands though, so its probably a good thing for us. I'm glad I'm buying my Tn gear now.

Maybe you are buying the wrong Nike stuff? I have a few Nike things of my own and my work shoes are the most comfortable shoes I own.

I just hope we have some input or ways to turn down Pro Combat uniforms or not have them forced on us (though I think CBJ wants an alternate). From what I have seen from DeerPark, I really doubt this happens.

I for one am glad we will not be with Adidas. Am I the only one that remembers how awful the replica jerseys looked this year? Not to mention their refusal to make higher end options as well. &+$%@ Adidas.

As far as gear goes, I'm neutral. However as far as the athletes on the field, Nike should be way better for them and that's what's important.
