I've been watching a little ESPN over the last few days. One thing I've noticed is that the Vols are getting very little airtime. I just saw a segment on SEC football and they showed about 5 minutes of clips from the season. The only clips of UT were negative defensive plays or of the band. I do believe they showed the sack on Woodsen that finished the Kentucky game but that's about it. They showed mostly Florida, Georgia and LSU clips. I know UT has been shaky at best. But we are playing for the SEC Championship Saturday.

Personally I hope the media is all over LSU asking them about the coaching situations. Get their mind as far away from football as possible.

honestly.........who cares?

just accept the fact that this game exists to judge LSU, not Tennessee.......it was the same for Cal, FL, Bama, GA, KY........we are apparently the measuring stick for other teams to be judged.

i'm glad they aren't talking bout us, let them talk all bout LSU. let that fire up the team to make a statement.

Georgia, Georgia, Georgia, Georgia, Tebow, Tebow, LSU, LSU. It becomes white noise after a while. I'm not going to watch anything college football related besides Knoxville sports media until after the game. Makes it all go away.

well with all this LSU has very little to gain and more to lose. Winning would mean that beat up a Tenn team the media has deemed unworthy in the first place. They get to go to a bowl game in their own state. Winning this game means alot more to UT then it will to LSU.

If I had to guess the sugar bowl would probably rather have the vols win. Illinois will want us to win as well.

Oh, definitely. The hotels hate it when LSU plays because LSU fans generally only come in the day of the game and don't stay. It's much better for business when another SEC team plays. Tennessee fans travel well, too, so I'm sure if you asked the business community in New Orleans, they'd much rather see the Vols.

The more media attention on Tigger, the more time our guys have to prepare. I recall an interview with Tim McGee after the '85 Sugar Bowl. To paraphrase, he said that miami was getting all of the media love and that it left UT plenty of time to prepare for the game. I think it really does work in our favor.

The Media wanted UGA to go to the SECCG the day after they beat Florida and haven't let up since. They have the UGA Fans believing they are still the SEC East Champs.

Screw the Media...GO VOLS!

I thought the same thing when I heard the time. Army-Navy is at noon and we are at 4, did they have another game in previous years (Big XII CG?)

fwiw, i watched ESPNU for awhile this morning. Why? Because Jim Donnan and the other yahoos on there talked about Tennessee's chances for a good 20 minutes. I even got up and left at one point and came back and they were still talking about it.

But ESPN hates us, so it must've been a dream.

They gave us more love last Saturday when we beat Kentucky, then they have in years. We even had a "game changing performance".

I personally love that they arent talking about us. It gives us more to gain and LSU more to lose.

I personally lost what little respect I had for ESPN (and it was VERY little) after the commercial they ran a few years ago. I know that has already hashed and rehashed a million times, but still...

They never hesitate to broadcast the games, and yet they never hesitate to bash us.

And the rest of the media isn't much better.

that commercial was absolutely hilarious. I'm ashamed of the fans that cried so much over it. You think the WVU fans cry like babies when they make some sort of redneck mountaineer reference? They laugh with it. How much respect can you give a school who blares a song about making and drinking moonshine every chance they get? lighten up people.

How many other schools did they poke fun at like that? Maybe I missed some but I don't remember any. My point was it reflected their whole overall attitude towards UT. If that was a one time thing, I would have laughed it off. Nothing for me to lighten up over.

they make fun of WVU all the time. They make cracks about crazed Bama fans all the time. Those schools just roll with it. There's nothing disrespectful about a woman with a pig in orange overalls, a man with an IV of orange blood and a couple making out the in the back. Except for the orange blood, I've seen all of those here in East Tennessee. Yes, I've even seen a woman in overalls walking a pig. We're from the country. It's who we are.
