According to numerous threads/posts on Volnation, it is becoming readily apparent that the Tennessee VOLS are set to announce multiple new head coaches within the next 24 hours. The list includes the following, but other names are also being mentioned, as well. Remember, according to "sources" on Volnation each of these men will be introduced as the new head coach of the VOLS on Sunday:

Mullen: Also reportedly to be staying at MSST and going to Florida! Good luck with that Dan. Supposedly Curries 1st choice. Must have multiple personalities.
Leach: Will the VOLS be able to lure him away from the program he is rebuilding at WASH ST? $$$ will tell.
Petersen: One of the VOLS' favorite candidates, but will Currie offer him enough $$$ to leave his comfort zone?
Schaino: Did pretty good at Rutgers... but Rutgers??? Love him or hate him, your choice.
Campbell: Did a great job at Toledo and is carrying that success over at Iowa State. Many consider him a slam dunk hire, but say UT cannot afford his buyout. Which is true???
Kiffin: Currie is said to be keeping this hire so secret because his man is none other than Lane Kiffin... yes, the guy who saw his way out of town via the burning mattresses in 2009. Could it be???
Gruden: Of course the Head-Head Coach will be Jon Gruden who will also be the head coach of the Cleveland Browns and the 49ers. He is also staying with ESPN. Another guy with multiple personalities, I suppose.

NOTE: Just edited to include the multitude of "Gacts" about Gruden being the new HC.

Now... to call the question... would the real New Head Coach of the Tennessee Volunteers.... please stand up and be recognized!!!

Listening to ESPNU around 4:45-or-so, it was announced that John Currie had flown to the state of Washington this afternoon...creating the non-grumor that either Chris Peterson or Mike Leach may be signing papers to coach the Vols. I'm old, my hearing's not as good as it once was, but I heard what I heard. I'd take either one, but with a far stronger lean toward Peterson. Let's put this grumors mess to rest!

Amen... Petersen or Leach... and I'd prefer Petersen, as well.

I would take Kiffin over alot of those coaches. I would put alot of clauses in his contract though. The guy can coach and he would bring good coaches with him to UT. He can recruit the big time players also. Who we need to win. Mcbride kid is bout the only one that i see is SEC player at QB. Half of our DBs are not SEC ready but you have to play who Butch recruited.

Some fans are like teenage girls, being dramatic about stuff that hasn't even happened. At least see who it is before you start binging on chocolate ice cream.

I agree. There would have to be some hard, clear understandings... in writing. The buyout would have to be in UT's favor, but still relatively fair. I believe he would happily come for around $4M plus a nice performance incentive package... leaving room for the hiring of some great coordinators and assistants. Also, his buyout is less than $3M. Kiffin will be back in the big time sooner than later and will be a great value for the program willing to take a chance and write a smart contract.

Was this a high stakes bet?

They both signed the papers and the loser of the game has to go to Tennessee.
