Vols get a Gator schedule break this year.

It seems like almost no one believes we're going to win this game. In truth I'm pretty skeptical myself, but I'm tired of it. They're not that good. I think if we stay out of the flesh eating bacteria water down there we might just sneak in and ruin their day. I never thought we could do what we did to Auburn last year either, but we did.

I like this post. I too believe in the law of averages. How many times have we had them beat and some miracle happened? I think we are due a break. Just like the Auburn game last year.. it's quite possible for a (supposedly) better team to cough up a hairball on any given day. So we shall see. Hopefully Kentucky gives them enough of a game that takes focus off the following week.

Not that good? But they were pretty darn good. Wins over LSU, Michigan, @Mississippi State in a game where MSU wanted to win more than they wanted oxygen and water. Went deep in the 4th quarter with the greatest 3-loss Georgia team in CFB history, curb-stomped rivals UT and FSU, resilient wins against SC and others. Finished 6th in America, 10 wins. That’s pretty good.

And from that team, they return most of the key players. Tennessee definitely has a chance to win in the Swamp but it’s because UT will be improved, not because Florida is “not very good.”

Plenty of time remaining for more arrests and transfers.

The number of Florida transfers have been middle of the pack for the SEC and nation. Several teams with more, some teams with less, many teams with about the same. And unlike many teams, not a single Florida transfer would have been in their 3-deep on either side of the ball. But hang your hat on that narrative.

And arrests, I think Florida and Tennessee have about the same number this year. Sucks for both teams to have any.

You have been one of the better gator pukes when it comes to being fair in your comments. That said, some of us are having giggling feelings as the season approaches and IF we wish to pump our chest and say Florida "ain't all that", Please understand it's our house and come 9/22 if we have to eat crow, So F B It !

I understand the giggly feelings, it’s that time of year. And if I have to eat crow, I’ll eat.

I didn't say not good. I said not THAT good. As in we can be good enough to beat you on a given Saturday without divine intervention.

That’s football. In the vast majority of games, the better, more athletic, better coached teams create more turnovers. People love to say “we lost because of turnovers” but what they should really be saying is “that team was better than us and it showed when they created/forced all those turnovers.”

Sure, there are some fluky type turnovers that aren’t necessarily forced; fumbled snaps, muffed punts and the like, but most turnovers come via a ball-hawking defense with well-coached athletes.
Was it the defense when our tightend just fumbled the ball out of the endzone last year?

I was on the sideline near the fumble. He was fumbling it before the DB even touched him.

Disagree.

Our DB crashes into Pope, after Pope failed to connect with a stiff arm, followed by Pope punching the ball out of his left hand with his right hand.

Pope didn’t expect our DB to catch him, and didn’t bother to secure ball until it was too late.

Actually, yes. That was CJ Henderson streaking across the field at about a 4.3 forty clip, completely freaking out your slow lumbering TE in the process, tackling him hard which caused him to fumble it out the end zone. I’m shocked you used that example as nothing validates my point more than that play. The contrast in those two athletes couldn’t be more stark, top 5 NFL pick and elite athlete coming from clear across the field, chasing down a dude who looked like he had a piano on his back.

If you wanna point to an unforced turnover, the bad snap that bounced off your QB’s shin would be a much better example.

Florida has played Michigan, Kentucky and Alabama in recent years before playing Tennessee and it made absolutely no difference v Tennessee.

I doubt it will this year either.

Sucks to agree. But, "UF Lost to (last year), or UF Nearly Lost to Lowly UK last week. We're gonna mop the floor with them this Saturday" posts fly all over the place on here year after year. Then sans 2016 UT proceeds to crap the bed year after year after year. I hope y'all stomp everyone and look like the 85 Bears before we play you this year. Maybe that'll help.

Instead of their usual 3 early cupcakes, the Gators have 2 difficult games (Miami & UK) before facing the Vols this season.
Should give us plenty of good video to see what they truly have.
Doesn’t mean we will win in Gainesville but it is a little break for us, I think.

florida football schedule 2019 - Google Search

The Hurricanes might not be a great read. They have three QBs who can't take the job and could be playing at least one freshman at OT. That said, may everyone except Florida State beat the Gators by 70, that would be ideal.

Screw the gators! They probably win in the Swamp this year but I always hold out a little hope and optimism. If we somehow pull it off, I look forward to seeing how the bittersweet fans react. That has become a new added bonus to winning against the gatorsuck.
We gonna be eaten some Gator!

lol UGA was up 9 going into the 4th then pulled away to win by 19. All 3 loss teams are exactly that, 3 loss teams. UGA was good, but not great in 2018. Definitely not good enough to pull a moral victory out of a 19 point loss.

Wrong. It was a 6 point game (23-17) until Georgia scored in the 4th with 8 minutes and some change left.

And went on to add another score which is why I said UF got their butts kicked in the 4th quarter by a better UGa team. But I think Florida wins that game this year.

Uh... where was I wrong? UGA was up 9 going into the 4th. UF scored a fg, then UGA scored 13 unanswered. Feleipe Franks and Mullen have been awful against Smart and UGA. Don’t see that changing until UF upgrades their qb. Emory Jones has potential.
