Vols Football in Enemy Territory

Enjoyed the stories. I'm originally from Oklahoma and actually graduated from the real OU. (You guys kill me calling Oregon OU) Moved to Huntsville to manage a radio station and would drive to Knoxville once a week for some post-grad credits. Really fell in love with the tradition of UT football. I swear I've been to some big games at OU, including 7 Red River Rivalries, but after attending the '99 Alabama game, the deal was sealed. Plus my wife is a UT grad.

I may have to skip the UT vs. OU match up in a few years, however.

Grew up in Ohio in the heart of Buckeyes country, but never caught on to that particular university. My parents weren't particularly huge college football fans, so it wasn't a big deal in our house. I had some friends that rooted for Penn State when I was younger and I joined with them for a little while, but still, college football was always kind of an after thought. When I got in at Bowling Green, I became a Falcon fan, and then a few years later, when I met my now-fiancee, a born and raised Volunteer and UT student, she passed the Vol bug on to me in a big way. In a week and a half, I will be bringing some Buckeye friends of mine down for the UAB game to see if I can't have them singing Rocky Top by the end of the weekend.

Born in Indiana, raised in Alaska, and grew up in Kentucky...I lived in Tennessee for a year when I was 13...it was enough for me to be a life long UT / Titans fan. My first college football experiance was going to Neyland stadium. I was an instant fan. Before that I had never watch college football because Alaska isn't exactly the college football hub of the United States. However I was still a fan of football. After we moved down south I got hooked and I guess I can say I've never, ever, like anyone else.

Having to live in UK territory is kind of "tuff." I have to here, ever freakin year, that "this year is going to be the year we beat uns in football" subsquently followed by "wait till basketball season" or even "the refs were horrible we should have won." I just laugh.

I was born and raised in Dalton, Ga. My dad is a huge UGA fan but thank God I am a Vol. Everyone in my family is a Dawg fan, so its kinda strange that I bleed orange.

Peyton Manning was my hero when I was 7 years old. I thought he was the ****. He was the reason I started watching Tennessee football, much to dismay of my dad. Ever since then I've been a Vol for life.
I may not be Tennessee born or Tennessee bred, but when I die, I guarantee ill be a Volunteer dead!
GBO!!

Born in Dallas, raised in Oregon. Played HS football a couple years behind Erik Ainge and loved college football but had not adopted a team. So when he arrived in Knoxville in '04 I adopted them.

My friends still call me out, I tell them I can't be a bandwagon fan after the last few seasons we've had.

Still have yet to go to a game.

I spent my first 18yrs in North East Tenn. I left there and have been from NC to CA and everywhere in between. Settled in Ohio almost 2yrs ago. All my family is still in Tenn so I go visit a few times a year. They think I come down to visit them but I'm really down there looking for new UT gear.

I was born in Sugar Grove Valley, near Oak Ridge. My Dad attended UT in the 60's. I was raised watching UT football. My family moved to Florida when I was 6 and I joined the Army after high school. I have lived all over the place since I joined. I have run into a few Vol fans in my travels.
