What is everyone getting worked up about? We're talking about black as an accent color (like in the background of your avatar bigtime).

Not really a big deal, as someone already said black is used for cleats, outline, headbands, etc. If they came out with all black jerseys that would be a different story (but wouldn't happen anyway)

I wouldnt mind it at all... A night game maybe, I dont know, I'd have to see the product first, but I would like to see us do something with some spunk... BUT FIRST, Bring back the wide stripe on the helmet!!!!!!!!!!!!

Black from a color standpoint is directed towards HDTV. The future of TV is HD and the color black is a specific color that shows up well on HD when contrasting other colors. This is straight from the UT.
Also, why they are putting black chairs in the arena.

As was already pointed out, the road jersey numbers are trimmed in black.

Do we REALLY want to go back to the Orange-sicle numbering from 1994 and earlier?

The Uni Manning is wearing is especially classic with orange pants.

The black trim road jersey do not bother me, but I wish they would be more inovative with them...maybe an orange and white version of the Falcons...

I'm not big on changing jersey's like that in college football. I still don't like the black outline. I like it more like Texas' jerseys.

Getting worked up about black as an accent is rediculous. I understand that we are the Orange and White, but gracious how upset can you be. It's not like they are going to adopt it full time or throw out orange or white. It is simply a means of making what is already good a little nicer. I would have to make the assumption that most collegiate teams go by a two color scheme but have other colors in their uniforms. I seriously doubt Orgeon chants GREEN YELLOW WHITE and BLACK in their cheers. Most schools (Georgia, Vandy.....) have "two color" shemes (Red and Black, Black and Gold) but they have white jeresys/pants (Georgia has grey pants). Is a third color really something to get all worked up about???

true i did forget about my avatar lol... but sweat bands are not an actual part of the jersey i just dont want to see it out line any part of the jersey other than that im fine

Joey Clinkscales gave me one of his away jerseys....and I love the orange on white. I realize it makes it hard for the bradcasters to read them from a pressbox, but I don't care, I think it personifies the orange & white of the U of T...

I don't mind black trim on the road uni's as long as there is no black on the home uni's or a black uni period. no black on the pants or the helmet

Slim Jimmy says that black is a nice color to be used in the uniforms. I think black kind of sets off the orange and white. A little bit of black doesn't hurt anything. Have you guys seen this picture before? I thought it was funny.

Personally I don't like the "add black" thing but if they decide to go with it, my world isnt goin to end. I just hope they don't pull of an Oregon ducks and make like 100 alternate jerseys.

I think some people may be overreacting to this.

After Summitt added some light blue to the lady vols stuff, it never grew to overshadow the beloved orange and white.

Let them trim and use black on some things. The players like it, and I don't think it hurts anything. If they start trying to incorporate black jerseys, or if some heretic suggests black on the helmet, I'll be right there with the rebellion.

The only time a UT player should have black on his helmet is after he knocks the breath out of a SC/Vandy/UGA player.

I have friends on the team and they've told me that the team has black jerseys that they've never worn.

I think the black piping around the numbers looks good. My favorite UT gear is black with an orange T on it. I have several Adidas shirts, hoodies, and jogging suits that are black. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
