Thanks again Seth. It should be required reading for everybody who wants to fire DeBord in fits of uninformed petulance when a play or two goes wrong.

These are great. And go to show us how much strategy is involved in each play according to it's moment in the game. A little confusion here or there and scores are made when the O executes properly.
Each week is a new plan and strategy. Goes to show how "better" teams can lose to "worse" teams in any given week.

Also, this shows that when Dobbs steps into his throws, this offense can be tough to stop. Anyone wanting to stop our run (Hurd Dobbs, Kamara) must sell out and play man on the WR. If they do that, then we will pull out these plays and torch them for long passes. This was the final piece this offense needed to take off!

Has D4H come back yet? I hope not. I love the idea of a fair weather fan bailing right before a great moment.

Yup.. He was lurking around some thread yesterday. Has modified his 12-0 to 11-1. Madam Cleo he's not.

This is good stuff. I've been frustrated with Debord on some red zone stuff, maybe not finding the rhythm or a little too tight/conservative - but this shows how little most of us know about what these coordinators see from the box. Amazing what happens when the players execute. Thanks for posting this.

Dobbs to Malone TD reminded me of Manning to Kent TD in 1995 Alabama game (first play). Speed kills

Not sure who is right but Butch pointed out the Jennings td wasn't designs for Jennings actually

Dobbs looked great passing the ball. And like someone else said I think it's due to him stepping up in the pocket and making the throw. The one drop by Malone was an absolute laser 30 yds downfield with like 3 DBs around, but the only one that could have got it was Malone. Also with Malone, his TD catch he was able to make in stride allowed him to flatout burn the 3 DBs next to him. The receivers also really stepped up after the drops, especially JJ. Man those guys got me so hyped up.

I guess I didn't realize how fast Malone was. First time I had really seen him be able to get in the open field and go. He just sailed through the FLA defense after the catch.

I've been one of the critics of Dobbs accuracy, and even his field vision. Neither of these seemed to be an issue Saturday. One game is a small sample to wipe out three years of history, but it did show he has all the tools. I've always loved his leadership, and representation of the University. I'd be more than thrilled if he's put the physical tools together to become a complete QB, as opposed to just a great athlete. He will be tough to contend with for the rest of the year if that switch has been flipped.

i agree. He has spent much of his time with poor line play. When given time he can be effective. Getting Hall back was a big boost and as I have said in the past Dobbs is most effective when Butch turns his loose and lets him play fast.

I like Debord and think he has done a great job. If your an OC in this Conference These concepts are child's play, the challenge is in getting execution from your team with extremely limited practice time. Debord has done a great job game planning around our weaknesses on offense. Our Oline is better than it looked early in the season as we were developing tallent. Baring injury our Oline will improve and so will our pass game. I have always felt Dobbs was a good passer and just needed more time to read and throw. I am extremely happy the receivers have improved. Just keep catching the ball.

Debord said it was something they had been setting up. He definitely made it sound like it was designed for Jennings, fwiw.
