Vols fans bashing Vols fans thread (merged)

I agree 100% by leaving in the 3rd quarter anything still could have happened, idk maybe i'm a true fan tho and am always optimistic we will make a comeback shame on me for having faith and loving my team even when there bad, at least you can't call me a bandwagon jumper.

No, you are a fan who accepts mediocrity no matter what. True fans are not satisfied with that.

(see how easy generalizations are)

We all knew that this year would be bad with the Fulmerites acting all high and mighty with the "told you so's" and fans of rival teams that are riding high looking to get some extra digs in. It's not going to last forever folks. Eventually, the Vols will be contending for the SEC again. There's no sense in getting all worked up about the little stuff.

This.

Obviously rule 1 is never question the team. Never question the coach. Blindly follow whatever is put in front of you.

Gotta say for the first year or two, yes. Shut up and do as I say. After five to ten years of average to below par results, not so much.

I left as soon as Auburn picked up the final first down and were kicking the field goal to go ahead by 10...no sense in sticking around after that (since I've got a bum knee it actually helps to beat the crowd). Even if Crompton did get a final TD against that prevent defense I don't feel like I missed anything. I saw how he played when when the opposing defense is really trying to stop him...which means terrible for those of you who left at halftime.

I've been to three home games this year, and the fans are pathetic. Hardly anyone yells or claps, they just sit there scowling with their arms crossed. Granted, we haven't had much to cheer about this year, but come on people! You can sit in silence in your home. The fans at other stadiums that I've been to don't sit there like statues, they get into the game and are vocal. The Auburn fans were louder than the Tennesse fans, even before the game started. Pathetic. As far as leaving early because you had a long drive home, get a hotel. That's what I did. I would never go to a game and leave in the third or fourth quarter.

There comes a point where you -

1. reach the point where it hurts too much to watch, and
2. logic overtakes fan emotion and you realize there is no way a comeback in possible.

Down two scores in the 4th this year meets both qualifications.

I long for the day when I do logically think we still have a chance to come back in that situation and I stick around.

If you don't want to watch, or support UT football during these trying times, then DON'T.

But don't come back and support them after we get some rebuilding done and start winning games either. We don't need you.

What is it about needing at least 2 or 3 years to rebuild that you guys don't understand?

You are either a UT fan or not, no matter who the coach decides to play at QB. So, support the program, or shut up, get the hell out, quit posting your whining a$$ topics, and go support UTC, Bama, or whoever.

WE NEED REAL UT FANS ONLY HERE.

Thank you.

:clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :salute:

Well said i agree with you completly, i'm sick of people who claim to be fans, but don't support their team here is a post i put on another thread about fans leaving early. posted this a few mins ago "I agree 100% by leaving in the 3rd quarter anything still could have happened, idk maybe i'm a true fan tho and am always optimistic we will make a comeback shame on me for having faith and loving my team even when there bad, at least you can't call me a bandwagon jumper."

I've worn orange in worse years than this.
I wear orange in all seasons. Win or Lose.

Football, Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Golf, Tennis, Swimming, Track, Bowling, Rowing, etc. etc. etc.

I'm very proud to be a UT Grad.

Sports are just icing on the cake!

like it or not, Hamilton has a problem with students not coming to games..

LOL at the title of this thread. Seriously, it's a rebuilding year. It's the first real rebuilding year in a long time (maybe since 2000). Unlike the losing seasons in 2005 & 2008, you can see that this program is headed up (recruiting, young talent, etc.). I really wish we would give Nick a shot at QB, b/c aside from the last drive against AU, it's just not working right now. But other than that, I don't have too much to gripe about. Hopefully, we can get some wins, get a bowl win, and then look for another step next season (ala Bama in 2007 & 2008).

people just can't seem to agree to disagree. i'm beginning to think buckeye fans are just about as good as us vol fans. if you verbally assault somebody on this board or start calling them names the mods should just ban them.

I agree. There's no place for that.

who in the heck can blame them for leaving ???? ut is embarrasing

You should be ashamed.

What if that last FG was blocked and returned for a TD?

Anything can happen in a game.

And to complain about UT being embarrassing (?), that's just sad. Have some freaking pride.

At Auburn, people are proud of Auburn University, not just proud of the score at the end of the game. You stay because that's your team, not because they're the winning team.

I'm just as proud of the fact that six former NASA astronauts were Auburn grads...that two former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff are Auburn grads, or that that the co-founder of Wikipedia is an Auburn grad as I am of the 50 wins we had from 2003 to 2007.

You should have the same pride in Tennessee, and keep your butts planted until the last whistle blows as a sign of respect for your team and your university. Don't be Laker fans that show up late and leave early.
