No. 4 Rice turned the tables on Tennessee Sunday, scoring four runs in the first two innings en route to an 11-1 victory in the Sunday night finale of the Houston College Classic at Minute Maid Park.

I saw on twitter that we made some errors and as a result, they scored several runs. Hopefully UT can cut down on those.

Rice is deserving of this ranking. We are a few years away from being really good. I dont know why, but Rice has always been one of my favorite college baseball teams, but id still have liked to see the vols beat them. :) Anybody think we beat Vandy this year in baseball? I just had one laugh bc we lost big to Rice. God I hate them!!!

I have a feeling we will see several ups and downs but the effort will always be there with a DS coached team

Good days and bad days. Forget Sunday's results, improve on the bad stuff, and move on to a new day.

We're gonna take our lumps this year and next, but I think this team will show continued improvement. Serrano will hold himself, his coaches, and these kids accountable for that. And, most importantly, he will not quit like Raleigh did.

I'll be happy as long as they continue to play hard. The wins will come in time.

GO VOLS!!!

I'm excited about the new buzz about Rocky Top Baseball. I'll admit though I'm not to caught up on UT's roster though. I just want them to make the SEC tourney and give theirselves a shot at a lot of weekend series wins. Going 1-2 in a three game series friggin sucks. They seem to be off to a good start.

Considering I thought we could have easily been swept, I'm happy that the Vols beat Texas in a glorified home game. Tough series for a team in rebuild mode.

I was able to see them play Texas on Saturday. Had a blast, but the wind came out of our sails after the first few innings. Gotta have more focus for the entire game.

Disappointed in the Friday loss as well, but everything in stride. Good luck to this team.

Rice completely outplayed them. Scored early and often in the first 3 innings, 3 errors, pitching contained the Vols to 5 hits holding them to one run produced late in the game, and were hugely outhit.

First of many bumps in a long season.

The Rice Pitcher, the freshman, was named MOP of the Classic...most oustanding player. There were a lot of good teams with good players, says a lot about the buzz saw we ran into.

Rice is a lot like Vanderbilt. If you don't consider consistent post season success and national titles in your consideration.

Would that make them the San Diego Chargers of College Baseball?
Although Rice has won a title in College Baseball while the Chargers have not won a Super Bowl.

bashing Vandy not Rice......I love Rice. A VERY well run organization with a strong coach that sticks with his gameplan.

Rice is everything that Vanderbilt THINKS they are.
