Appalachian State uses the pistol a lot. I wonder if Heup is conforming our offense to fit Joey's strengths versus making Joey fit into a new system?
Not sure what they showed in the spring but I think many of these changes were plan coming out of our self-scout at the end of last winter.

No bad Qs today. Joakim impressive kid...heck all of them are impressive. David 38 lb gain. between 305-308

Of those 7 scholarship WRs we have...most of which are freshman or RS freshman...ALL 7 OF THEM are Bluechip recruits ranked in the top 300 in their classes. Yes, we are VERY young at WR. We are also VERY talented.

Staley and Matthews have a full year in the system and are the favorites to start at Slot/Y respectively. Freshmen Smith, Jackson, and Dodson are ALL extremely gifted athletes though that could have gone anywhere in the SEC. Jefferson was also highly sought after before redshirting at Bama last year. Our WR Corps is young, and needs to grow up fast...but they will all get so many reps that they can develop very quickly. Especially with a true QB competition and there only being 7 of them instead of usual 10/11

I'm warming to Joey A. Seems to have a consistent, fast release once he sets to throw.

I know it's youth but there's something about G-Mac's upper body motion on his throws that looks..... I think the technical term is "hinky".... just something about his shoulder movement that looks unnatural or "bumpy."

I'm not a QB coach but I did have a spicy McMuffin this morning.
Joey Seams is what they’ll call him

Pistol you say?
I think we’re going to see a slight revert back to the offenses Heupel was running at Oklahoma. Which is almost the types of offenses you’re seeing in the NFL now. Oklahoma ran similar stuff last year with Littrell, and Landry Jones was brought in for a reason in my opinion. That’s a good sign, because I don’t think you can win a national championship running an offense that relies on tempo and the defense being out of position to hit deep balls. Unless you have someone like Cam Newton at QB it just isn’t going to be good enough when facing a defense that has a dozen future NFL picks in their 2 deep. At some point the entire field has to start being used in the passing game instead of us giving half the field a play off to catch their breath

Boo has been mentioned, in the past heard good things about Winton. That COULD help.

Anybody have fact based analysis of the rest of this years walkons physical abilities? When they go outside the numbers, defense has to go with them. Feeling pretty solid in the slot/wing.

I personally am hoping for a return to more tempo. Did not seem to fit Nico.
