Vols End Season Ranked

how can the Vols be ranked Ahead of Penn state even If we all believe we are still the better team. Just like in BBall ranks. Memphis has a worse record and we beat them they are still ranked ahead of us. Explain that to me!!!

Ahhh...they sneak in. That's huge for CPF because this breaks the tiebreaker for being ranked or not since 2000.

Close only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades, and nuclear weapons. We lost those games, plain and simple. I do like the optimism, but I honestly think we are holding on to a false hope as far as CPF coaching ability goes. Maybe I will change my opinion of him after next year, but I said the same thing and the end of last year as well.

I was talking about ending the season ranked, but all the same, Lex, all the same. :)

Ohhh so close. 1 point away from from tie with the NC. 9 seconds and one TD pass away from winning vs the Sugar Bowl champs. PSU.... Well fa-get about ittt. A fumble.

All well and good, but how is our recruiting class? That's obviously the only thing Phil is good at anymore. I just wish we had coaches that get these start recruits some titles.

Interesting.

We were ranked lower by the coaches almost all season, and now they have us two spots higher than the press.

Will Hamilton use this now to justify a raise and lifelong contract for Fulmer? After all, there's definite improvement from last year.

Hamilton pretty much tipped his hand that Fulmer is getting an extension, but I do not think Phil gets a raise this year. That's two years in a row w/o a raise. Maybe he'll get mad and resign?

Sometimes improvement just isnt enough. I say if we dont get at least a confrence championship and a bowl win his Butt should be canned. I was on the Fulmer bandwagon the bandwagon is turning over.

I dont see how we are ranked above Penn State either. Must be for body of work, because otherwise I dont see a reason why.

As for the ap, yet another year of us being behind uga :banghead2: :angry: :yuck: :bad:

You don't understand UT ahead of PSU but no outcry for UGA ahead of UT? (and UGA is NR in the coaches) :dunno:

I'm not sure I would have put OSU #2. I think Florida, USC, LSU, BSU is about what I would have done if I'd have voted.

I think Fla is 5 at best because of all the players they are losing and if they only return 5 starters how can they be ranked so high? Not that they wont be good but just to early to say top 5.
