Vols LB starters: MLB Nick Reveiz, SLB LaMarcus Thompson, WLB Savion Frazier or Herman Lathers.

Vols CB starters: LCB Art Evans, RCB Eric Gordon or Marsalis Teague.

Vols inside DL: NT Montori Hughes, Arthur Jeffery. DT Gerald Williams, Vic Thomas, Steven Fowlkes. No Sykes, Bowens.

On offense, as expected Matt Simms will lead the attack with Tauren Poole and Kevin Cooper in the backfield, Gerald Jones and Denarius Moore at wide receiver and Luke Stocker at tight end. From left to right, Dallas Thomas, JerQuari Schofield, Cody Pope, Jarrod Shaw and Ja'Wuan James will start on the line.

I got this from Rucker's tweets this morning... not sure about the inside DL depth chart.

I like the move of Gerald Williams to DT - at least give him a shot there and see how he does. He's a little undersized, but hopefully his strength and athleticism will allow him to get consistent big pushes.

It's kinda like the move of Teague to DB from WR. If you're stacked in one area and you have glaring holes in another, make the move!

FB time in TN! GO VOLS!

I know all of the attention has been on the defensive tackle spot in today's release of the depth chart, but is anyone else suprised that Darick Rogers isn't on the 2 deep at wide receiver. I have heard that he hasn't looked all that impressive running routes but that he is a phenominal athlete. I would just like to have someone's take with a little insight to the situation.

Going from Eric Berry to Prentiss Waggner at SS. Epic downgrade. Wish Myles hadn't been so stupid.

Most freshman don't start... and this is the SEC. He'll still be great down the road. It's encouraging to me that we have the depth, at least at a couple of positions, not to have to throw all of our young ones to the wolves from day one. He will still contribute this year. Don't worry about it.

I was more surprised that Hunter is listed, considering that there is supposedly no news on whether he will even be eligible. I think all of the recievers will get several reps.

yeah i was wondering the same thing ... a five star no less!!!!! justin hunter is a four star, there's no way he could be ahead of darick!!! coaches said he was a little sloppy in practice, taking plays off, etc.., he will realize soon that you have to WORK at the collegiate level, unlike high school where he could out talent everyone... not so against janzen jackson and company

Most of the time a team will have a 6 man rotation at WR. As far as Rogers goes, even an incredibly talented WR has to give the effort AND understand how to play.

My two questions are:
Will Hunter play? I'm pretty excited about him.

And, how many guys listed in the OL 2 deep are likely to actually play in a competitive situation? Fulmer's teams used to have about 7 or 8 guys who actually played. They moved guys around to different positions depending on the personnel group. For instance, I don't really see Pair playing behind Thomas. If Thomas needs a blow or gets injured then surely James would move over, right?

LOL at the star gazers, I was simply wandering because everyone was saying he was the next Julio Jones or AJ Green.

Yeah, the next qualified lineman would move up and they would realign to work them in. Daniel Hood or Pair will not be on the field with James Stone sitting on the sideline.

He's probably still a little raw and learning. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they lined him up in the slot to get him in the mix every now and then.

I think as detail oriented as CDD seems to be, lazy practice habits would drive him nuts. The thing that surprises me is that Da'rick has not figured that out yet. Hopefully he will turn that around, as his talent is off the charts.

Any chance that some of the upperclassmen are being given starts in what should be one of the few easy wins this season so as to make them eligible for letterman awards?

Don't forget some of these kids have been through spring practice so they know the playbook better.

And also, a guy with good technique at defensive back will usually beat out a freak athelete(example:jamming at the line of scrimage)
