Question for you serious power lifters...what does 3 reps of 400lbs with that level of effort equal for a max?

I could do that much at that age, but with considerably more effort...that was around my max. I feel sorry for Kongbo for when he's my age and has trouble doing squats with NO weight like me.

I'll post here what I posted on FB in response to this video. No offense, but I would certainly hope a JUCO DE could squat 405 with ease. Most D1 wide receivers could do the same. At his size and position he should be able to bench 405 for that many reps with relative ease.

I used to be able to do the exact same thing. It was just something like 150# tho. Pretty much the same, right?

Jack's right. Some of our VN posters must have not either been in actual weight training rooms or lifted themselves. 400 is OK for a guy his size, but the largest muscles in your body are below your waist. I don't think he'll find many SEC OTs losing sleep over this.

Exactly. I a 38 yr old who weighs 187 and can squat 385# for 6 reps after only a year of training. The 700# max number I saw above looks much more accurate for a guy of his size, weight and age.

He made 405 look easy. Best guess is he can do multiple reps at 1.5 x his body weight without too much of a struggle. Probably has a max at 2 time BW, so abt 590-600.

All of these experts talking about how much he should be lifting, what most athletes do blah..blah SHOULD post a video of themselves under 400 lbs and squat. Then talk. GBO
