Vols changing sidelines...

If so it would get them out of the sun.

I sit in Section U and I'm usually shaded out most of the time.

Maybe this will allow some of the BlueHairs the opportunity to make some noise for the team with them being much closer now.

As a rival fan I think this is long overdue for the Vols. Two years ago I remember it was hot, the Vols were baking in the sun and the Gators were in the shade. It is your stadium, take advantage of the ability to select the shady side! At Ben Hill Griffin stadium the home side is in the shade in the afternoon, I think it helps the Gators greatly, especially early in the season when it is so hot.

I like it. I dont know why they havent done it sooner. Who wants their team in the sun all day.

Thank goodness for tweeting. Now if only someone could change that voice of hers. Nails on a chalkboard.

I thought we were on the other side because of an NCAA rule... Something about rival teams can't be on the same sideline as the student section? Am I making this up?

This was the way it used to be. I never understood why they moved to the other side in the first place.

This is only common sense - I'm glad they're making the change.

I also can't understand why the band faced the visitors side. I mean it's hospitable but I'd rather see them face the home side... and now they will!

Well... is there any link to confirm this? Not doubting you, I'd just like to read something official about it.

Football Team to Change Sidelines for 2010 Season - TENNESSEE OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE

I see they moved '94 due to SEC policy in regards to student seating.

Also: "In order to move the students, the athletic department will move approximately 1,000 season tickets in Neyland Stadium. Season ticket holders affected by the move will be relocated to comparable seating in Neyland Stadium with no additional donation requirement."

They are moving the students to the endzone - upper deck - under the tron.

I figured they would just relocate the students. No way the blue hairs would move the the sun side and you are not going to put them in the endzone with the chair backs facing the jumbo tron. Moving them to the endzone sides will be fine. It will make that end of the field more deafening.

it's about time... the move was dumb from the begining.... why let our boys cook while our opponents sit in the shade in september.... and moving the students over just a hair will create more noise in that endzone when an opponent is in the "orange" zone which could never be a bad thing....

and bravo for making all student tickets just 10 bux for any game... and not 20 for a premium game.... maybe more will show and fill the gaping holes they created last season....

I was joking.

I really hope they're not moving the students... I know its been debated on here ad naseum about students at sporting events, but as a recent graduate, the feeling by the students was the AD didn't care about them and seating, tickets etc. If they're moving the students, its only going to piss them off even more.

Check the Volnation Home Page. There's like three links to three different articles. Clear as day.

You are correct.

He is not correct unless you are saying he is correct about making it up lol... MTSU's student sit right behind the visitors at Johnny "Red" Floyd and we give the opposing team heck all game long... and MT is in the shade most of the game on the home side.
