Vols can and DID stop Mcfadden and Jones

i've said this in other threads, but we don't have to "stop" them. they'll get yards, i don't think anyone is expecting to show up and hold them season lows or anything.

but as has been pointed out, ARK has lost games this year despite those two gaining extraordinary amount of yardage.

the key is to keep them from going off. do they get 300 vs. 500? do they score 24 vs. 48?

ARK has two things that equalize the threat of those two:
1. Casey Dick
2. their defense

we capialize on those two, we can certainly win this game.

You forgot one other important factor:
3. Houston Nutt

The only way we stop the run this weekend is if our LB's get a crash course in Gap Control, and our safeties play 8 yards from the line. If we can execute that well, we have a chance. Can you believe that Auburn of all team held McFadden and Jones under 100 yards combined?? I would watch that tape if I was Chavis.

After to seeing what South Carolina did to the Tenn defense in the second half of that game, I have no doubt that Ark can and will win this game. Mcfadden and Jones will torch the Vols with 450 total rushing yards. And Ark will win 31-20. Just like last year, Fulmer will have no answer for the WildHog formation.
He is a great player. Tennessee knows he will get a certain amount of yards, you treat him as a good batter in a line up or good shooter in basketball. You know he's coming to play we just need to limit his time on the field and hope he they wear him out by running him so much. I feel if we don't score at least 30 or more points, we lose. Remember as well, your best defensive player that kept rushing our offense and disrupting them last year is playing in the NFL now.

You did in fact try to compare your team to Auburn or you would not have brought it up in the first place.

Bottom line - Tenn will score a lot in this game. But they will not be able to stop Mcfadden. And if they key in on d-mac, then Felix will take over. Like I said before, your defense is average and you will have to outscore us to win.

What are going to do numbnuts? YOu can only hand the ball off to ONE of them.

I can believe Auburn did that because Muschamp is a helluva coordinator and Quentin Groves and crew are a very stout D.

Auburn has a terrible O or they would be in the running for the National Championship IMO.

Two things Genius...

First one is no one needs to STOP McFadden or Felix, just slow them up.

Second thing...
you will have to outscore us to win.

You THINK? lol, I'd love to see us win without outscoring you.... :banghead2:

After he torches Tenn, Miss St, and LSU (the same teams he torched last year), they will have to give it to him. Then who knows? Maybe he'll be playing for the titans next year. Wouldn't that be something. Hate him this year, love him the next.

It's good to see that you have finally gotten over that ass whippin' we put on you way back in September. Bravo young man, way to keep your head up. :birgits_giggle:

After seeing what KY did to that Arky defense in the second half of that game, I have no doubt that TN can and will win this game. Ainge and Taylor will torch the Hogs 300 total passing yards. And the Foster, Hardesty and Creer combination will rush for 200 and the Vols will win 31-20. Nutt/Dick will be left with their mouth's wide open.

That was awesome:birgits_giggle:

I think we will see the same d we saw when we played the Dawgs and we wont see much of anything from ARK!
Ainge and Foster seal the deal!

If Arkansas was unstoppable, they would be undefeated. Instead, they've lost a bunch of games because teams figured out how to shut them down. UT will win this game easy.

McFadden will be an NFL burnout. He'll lose his starting position to some no-name from Rice St. within a season.

It will be interesting to see what the Vols can do with Mcfadden running one direction and Felix the other. Give that man the Heisman.

Felix Jones will get 165.

Ark 31
tenn 20

Espn analysts said that Mcfadden is the best to come out of the NCAA since Ladanian Thomlison. I guess he will just half to rip you guys for 200 yards to make you believers. You will be after Saturday. I'll be looking for you guys after the game.

Too bad Adrian Peterson was the best RB since LT:birgits_giggle:

....yep, a true sign of an underachiever is to win one in an annual series and get all over opponets sights acting like a bunch of "just out of the outhouse era" fans.

allright....I gotta come clean. I have been dissin' on these hog fans as illiterate and backward, but here is the truth, I have the fortune of doing quite a bit of business in NW arky and it ROCKS, That does'nt mean you won't get your asses a bet, but I love the land. My wife, after every return trip is asking if we need to pack our bags. Great restaurants(the Mill is my favorite....bar none) but, even the local brewpub rocks. And if you ever want to fish, climb, cliff dive or spend a quiet dinner on the edge of campus it's hard to beat. Awesome facilities and setting for a stadium. We ALL know it....just won't admit ANYTHING this week.
