Tennessee hoops is getting some great airtime on ESPN this year, and Majerus and Lavin had some good things to say about this team after the HUGE win.

Still, and I know I'm biased, but 45 minutes after the game ends, ESPN.com still doesn't have a single mention of the game on their homepage.

These "news" stories apparently were more important, though:

- T.O. fined $35K for spitting in face of Falcons' Hall -
• Vick, Abraham likely to start Sunday | Strahan too? - WE'RE TALKING ABOUT WHO'S GOING TO PLAY IN 5 DAYS FOR NFL TEAMS WHO ARE NOT REALLY EVEN IN THE PLAYOFF PICTURE??? AND THAT'S MORE IMPORTANT THAN A GREAT BASKETBALL GAME THAT JUST TOOK PLACE ON YOUR OWN NETWORK 30 MINS AGO?
• Mets to make pitch to Zito | Bonderman gets $38M - SAME
• Busch to end sponsorship of No. 2 NASCAR series - SAME
• Padres, Marcus Giles close to deal | Vidro a Mariner - SAME

Not worth one mention? Am I crazy?

Another shining example of ESPN's obvious and clear bias against the University of Tennessee if I ever saw one.

I'm just glad that our two big wins over Memphis and now Okie State have been shown on their network. It shows people that, while we are still not on North Carolina's level, we are improving since the games vs. Butler and North Carolina in the NIT.

Ya think if the final score was reversed it would be up on the .com?

It should be a top story either way - one of the few undefeated teams was either going to lose or pass a big road test to stay undefeated.

I don't think ESPN has anything against the Vols, but I just think it's really poor judgment about what's a worthwhile story. I mean, it was a great freakin' game, an exciting finish with lots of subplots (ahem, Bradshaw being one) and a big upset of an undefeated team. That deserves at least a mention.

So..it's the lead (first on the list...not the "picture" story) story under Men's Basketball on ESPN.....

Hey don't throw water on our assertion that ESPN is biased against us!! :focus: They obviously are due to the fact that the game was on their own network, it went down to the wire like you said and there is zilch mention of it on their website. Now if OSU had beaten the Vols in said exciting fashion the news would be splashed all over the site in capitol letters...

Still seems kinda obscure - no pics or nothing. Biggest college hoops story of the night, and so little coverage.

BTW, it's also on foxsports.com homepage (that might be the first time I've ever visited that site).

Maybe, but I still like to think the news covers the best stories, not the teams they like or dislike. Even if there's no bias, it still fires up the fans, and that ain't bad.

BTW, I love these Vols - they bring it every single night. Look at the injuries all over the court - Dane's shoulder, JuJuan's wrist, Lofton's cut lip, Crews's...whatever that was. They're all in it together.

If you watch ESPN long enough, you should know Tennessee and ESPN hate each other. At least I know ESPN hates Tennessee, and I hate ESPN.

I'm usually leaning toward the ESPN hates Tennessee side but when it comes to Bruce Pearl and the BasketVols, it's just not so. They love Coach Pearl.

I still haven't figured out how we knock off two top 15 teams, and lose to 2 other teams that are ranked...and still can only manage 1 (ONE!) vote in the ESPN/Coaches Poll. I imagine that our lone vote came from an SEC coach, or maybe Roy Williams, heh.

So, I've been watching sports center for almost an hour now, and no mention of the game or NCAA bball at all....i missed the game earlier and really hoped to see the highlights. They have done 3 segments on the NBA fight, and 3 segments on the Colts win but no acknowledgment of NCAA. I haven't been a sports fan for long, is this normal?

yes it is. no one cares about ncaa basketball until mid january at the earliest. get over it people. this is what a playoff system does. it negates a good portion of the regular season.

They want all the attention on MNF. Nothing else matters on ESPN or .com while MNF is on or being talked about. The Basketball game was better than watching Cinci not show up:eek:lol:
