Really nice early win. Thank you Lamonte and Grant. Win and lose as a team, but those two need their dinner bought, next time they have to pay.

Hard to believe Alexander came away with 13 points and 11 boards. Huge 3 in the OT. He really brought it today....along with a number of others.

Driving to Knoxville right now so I listened to the 2nd half on AM radio since it wasn't on Sirius and the guys calling the game on the Purdue broadcast were so frustrated with their post guys getting dominated by Grant down low.

Literally called it a few times as we brought the ball up the court they'd say something like "they're gonna give it to Williams and he'll get an easy bucket downlow over Haas or Harms." Sure enough it'd happen, too. Also kept pointing out Grant's size whenever he'd grab his own rebound on the block basically wondering out loud how their 7'2" team captain could possibly be outplayed by a guy 6 inches shorter than him.

Loved every second. Great win!

I don't think UT wins this game last season, so I'm hoping Barnes has turned the corner with this team. Congratulations Big Orange!!

Barnes is a great example of a coach "doing more with less". UT normally hires those who "do less with more". Holly is a great example of that. 5 5star starters and 2 five stars coming off the bench barely beat WSU.

Vols played with a lot of heart & passion.

Rick Barnes has coached this team up!

The tide's a'turnin'. Barnes is about to shut some people up. He had a plan. The instant gratification crowd didn't like it, and so they pissed on his every movement, or absence of movement. They called him grandpa, lazy, said he's coasting to retirement, collecting a paycheck. He remained unfazed and stuck to his plan, and we are seeing the fruits of that labor. GBO!

7-2 Haas and 7-3 Haarms combined for 15 pts and 6 rebs.

6-7 Williams and 6-10 Alexander combined for 35 pts and 19 rebs.

They got owned inside.

8 and 0! Europe/pre-season/season.

I had a feeling, with this year's additions, that game endings would often be much different than last year. I'm sure we won't win them all, but we should get our share of the close ones this year.

Great win early in the season for a lot of reasons. Number one these guys look like they are on an aggressive mission to win. Flying to the offensive board throughout the game and just wearing Purdue down on the defensive end. This style and make up of a team is what CRB wants. Poise, energy, passion, and more importantly this year is depth. Grant was the man last year is the man again today and will continue to be throughout the season. The great think about Grant this year is talent around him allows him to have other options and not shoot forced shots throughout the year. Starting to see a Rick Barnes Identity type team. I for one cannot wait to watch them play like that for the rest of season. Alot of upside and potential as to what this team can accomplish moving forward.

They may not have had big numbers today, but the newcomers did make a big difference. Daniels had two huge free throws late. I like the handle and aggressiveness of Darrington, with the ball. And Walker had some big boards and held his own against their giants.

So a whistle never blew? That's why they couldn't add time back?

Probably the whistle blew, but after the time expired. If there had been no whistle, they might have been able to take it back to the time of the infraction. I don't know for sure.
