VOLS Article: AD Hamilton

well i can't disagree with anything in the article, i've said it many times, MH does not want to fire this guy. I've always thought he's looking for any reason to keep him on. and it makes sense. despite all the conjecture we do on this board, i think most of us do realize that despite 100-37, beating GA and USC this year, were as big a wins as there ever have been for us, in regards to CPF's job status.

oh well........i guess we'll just go with who brung us afterall......

Phil is here forever. I understand that now.

Nothing is forever! We lose the 3 SEC games left, there will be people crying to get rid of CPF that actually can do something about it, not just us whiners.

That's damn right. He's no Bill Callahan. We are gonna keep him forever, unless "he gets caught having an affair with Smokey's mama".

and when we win those 3 games will you still be whining?

Twice he has been handed the SEC East this year. If he doesn't win out now there will be a lot of pressure to remove him. I think our team will win out, Phil will ,and there will be a lot of pressure to n
bring in some new defensive coaches. This will get interesting.

I always celebate every win, especially now when they don't come as often as we had gotten used to. There was supposed to be a bit of sarcasm in my quote, guess it didn't come accross well.

UT football is turning into a soap opera....We should all be happy that we are in front of the SEC East right now and leave the coaching decisions to the people/person who has control of them. Let's worry about that later and focus on this season and winning the East...

Patiently awaiting your abuse.....

Agreed, painful to even think about.....But what is griping and getting in a pissed off mood going to do about it??? Unless I am wrong we wont get a shot at FL till next Sept, and have an outside chance at Bammer in Atl...I agree that its time for Fulmer to go, but as a longtime Vol fan and seeing how they run the program I just dont see that happening unless its on his own terms...All we (as fans) can do is support our team and accept the University leadership to make the right decision's...

Tennessee.... win out????

Tell me exactly how the Vols are going to stop a team that rushes for over 300 yards per game? Who has Tennessee stopped this besides Georgia?

Also explain to me how the Vols will stop UK given our defensive performance???

Arkansas lost to Alabama, Kentucky, and Auburn.

Alabama
Alabama rushing D ranked 41
Total D ranked 46

Kentucky
Rushing D ranked 94
Total D 64

Auburn
Rushing D ranked 23
Total D ranked 8

Tennessee rushing D ranked 68
Total D for Tennessee ranked 85.

All we have to do is load the box and make them pass. They are ranked 110 in passing this year. We make them pass and we beat them.

I think the bigger question will be how well our O will do against their D. They have the number 1 pass D in the country.

Well thats all they do is rush....Arky has absolutely NO passing game and I believe even our Defense will be able to keep him under control...Hoping that Chavis will remember how to coach Defense and maybe play 4 lb's and let the secondary go man....Blitz the hell out of Mcfadden, punch the Hogs in the mouth early and they wont respond....They have more problems going on in Fayetteville than we do...I just dont like the late morning game, UT always seems to come out flat for morning games..

Ky......I think Kentucky is flat out of gas from playing way over their heads the past few weeks....Woodson is not a Heisman by any means and here of late has thrown alot of picks....Also a Miss State team went in there and owned them last Saturday, I expect Vandy, and Georgia to beat them as well as UT....thats just MO Patrick....Whats yours?

Tennessee got waxed by Bama.. Our defense made them look like all americans.....

Auburn would drill Tennessee...and UK was playin well when they beat ARK.

I seem to recall the Ark spanked UT last year. I believe that McFadden played QB, RB, and wideout....

I have understood that ark's o-line is not as strong as it was last year, that should work in our favor. However, I still doubt we can hold them to < 250 yards rushing. We can beat them if we don't commit TOs and force them into field goals rather than TDs a couple of times.

this is just great news. fantastic news. really really super news.

It appears from this article that -- barring published photos of fulmer in a hotel room with a goat -- his job is secure. That really makes me happy on numerous levels.

I'm glad fulmer and hamilton are but buddies. That's really great for the program.

This sums it up.

This, of course, was an emotional release after a tense four hours. Hamilton cheered as the Vols bolted to a 21-0 halftime lead. He squirmed when South Carolina went ahead
24-21.

And he looked downright sick when the boos raining down on the Vols at the reversal of football fortune.

So when UT completed its great escape, he was overcome by joy. I don't know who was more relieved, Fulmer or Hamilton.

Dollars and sense

Amid all the rhetoric and speculation, Hamilton is standing by his coach.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Mike Hamilton does not want to fire Fulmer. And barring a total November meltdown, he won't do it this year — if ever

This is probably the most important sentence in the article:

It would hit UT elsewhere in the ledger because a handful of big boosters are Fulmer supporters who might withhold donations.

Those are the guys who are going to have to change their minds for a change to be made.

Couldnt agree with you more....If they are fine with Fulmer there is nothing that anyone can do.....

"A TV camera caught Hamilton putting a bear hug on UT Coach Phillip Fulmer as the two exited the field following the Vols' great escape."

And this is the guy who in a previous interview said UT fans were too emotional after the UF loss and coaching decisions need to be made rationally and objectively. I guess the loyalty over performance idea doesn't just apply to Phil and his assistants.

Are you serious? I dont and no alum/fan has to accept what the University's leadership does if we dont agree with it. The team does not exist without the support of alums, fans, donors, students, etc. It does not exist in a vaccum. Mike Hamilton is not some demigod that sits on high and dictates to us what we have to accept. I will continue to voice my opinion, loud and long. In my mind I believe that's our right and to a certain extent our responsibility.

true but sad. MH is a buisnessman and his bottom Line is the money. Expect one more year without extensions etc. then another reevaluation. Basically we will be here discussing the I told you Sos next year at this time.
