Vols Are Quietly Laying the Groundwork

I don't think we're being that quiet. We'll see
Saturday, but I think we're ready to roll next season. Damn it feels good to actually believe it.

Tennessee Is Quietly Laying the Groundwork for a 2015 SEC East Title Run | Bleacher Report

2015 just might be the year we take our place back among the Big Boys in the SEC.
What's really sad is, we could have turned it around and contended for the SEC THIS year. Dobbs looks now just like he looked in the Spring O/W game. And I'd even add the KY game, last year. He really made big strides in those two occasions.

So, starting out the season with two easier OOC games would have prepared him for Oklahoma and the SEC schedule. We probably beat UGA and UF, and probably either OU or Ole Miss. That's 8-2 right now and in the lead for the SEC E.

If we beat Mizzou this weekend....especially if it's by a sizable margin, we won't be "quietly" building anything. The SEC and the rest of the country will know what's going on in Knoxville.

I honestly believe Tennessee will be a force to deal with next year. Bama may get us on the road, but we get'em back in the seccg!

Not so fast my friend.. GA and FL will be the favorites regardless. Easier schedule (don't play Bama). FL will make a homerun hire more than likely too.

I think we probably win both of those games with a healthy Worley too. He never looked 100% after the UGA game. Plus there's no telling if Dobbs would be healthy for the stretch run had he played all those games. I do wish they would have started him for UF though since Worely was pretty clearly already hurt.

UGA plays Bama next year....and Auburn. Fla will get LSU in B Rouge, and Ole Miss. Other than the Bama game on the road, I actually like our sched next year.

We all know this is an opinion, because it sure isn't fact.

Obviously hindsight is 20-20. I was a believer in Dobbs because of the young O-line from pre-season. I do hope he can hold up over the long haul of a full season.

I said following the Spring O/W game that Dobbs was the best QB on the roster for Bajakian's offense....period. I said it all fall camp; that Dobbs was by far the better fit for this offense, and would help take some attention off Jalen Hurd.

After we lost to OU, I started a thread talking about how Worley might be more experienced, but trying to force a pocket passer to fit a Read Option offense, was hurting the whole offense...including the running game. Because defenses knew Worley just doesn't run the ball.

Got flamed by a lot of you "Dobbs sucks...can't even beat Peterman out" goobers. Even had some dip-shiite try to sound like a subject-matter expert and correct me....saying "this offense is a Dive Concpet....blah, blah, blah." Dumbarse didn't inform Butch Jones or Bajakian of that, obviously....cause they've stated repeatedly that it is a zone read scheme.

Some little annoying minion who doesn't know his tail from a hole in the ground was like "Yeah, yeah, yeah.....you're wrong, cause.....uhhhh, what he said."

So, all you "Dobbs sucks cause he can't even beat Peterman and sucked all camp" idiots...

Leonard Little had an excellent point on Swain's show the other day. He said how could the coaches possibly know what might work in a game if Dobbs was not able to do it in practice. Bajakian would have had no idea what to call because, from all accounts, Dobbs was not executing much of anything right in practice.

I recall CBJ saying before the season that some players would be ready @ the start of the season. Some by the middle of the season, and then some towards the end. He has been proven to be correct.

Quietly in the sense that the juggernaut Butch is building is not getting a lot of national press. Not yet anyway, although the Vol faithful can see what's on the horizon.
