I have being going to games and following Vol FB since 1954 and I am more disheartened today than ever. There appears to be a curse on all things associated with BO FB. Things weren't bad enough, so our nascent AD hires a buddy of his with a rep so sketchy that the Presidents press person feels compelled to weight in opposing it. How can this happen? The one person who can speak for Vol Nation ( Coach Fulmer) and be respected is left entirely out of the process. WE have creeps like Herstreit pontificating on the sorry state of UT fandom and the dumpster fire of our program. We have become Vandys bit#h and failed to win a league game for the first time EVER. If some powerful person that hates UT and seeks to destroy it, he could not have damaged UT more than Currie and Jones. Only someone like Cutcliffe can hope to get this train back on track. Give Cut or similar a blank check , cause one more misstep can be the practical end of Vol football.

Cut said no yesterday, so there's that.

The only constant since Fulmer left has been Haslam's influence. We've hired who Haslam wants every time, whether it be an AD or coach. Haslam is an incompetent moron who as we well know has a knack for running things into the ground (Pilot, Browns, and UT).

Haslam is the reason we're in this spot and until he gets ran out of the state I don't know if we'll ever be back tbh.

Supposedly Fulmer is making phone calls on behalf of UT to coaches about the vacancy now.

The team just bottomed, but the AD just offered $8.5M/yr for a head football coach. Believe me, people are talking. A number like that makes us highly relevant. All of the complaining about being unable to attract good coaches should be past tense within our near future.

I'm with you brother. I've been attending games since the 60's and am ashamed to say how much I've spent on season tickets, donations, travel, Vols gear and all such through the years.

2017 did it for me. Tennessee sold us a thoroughly defective product. If I bought an item anywhere else that was that broken I would show up at the store and pound on the counter until they gave me my money back. At the very least, the university owes its fans and athletes an apology..

My concerns with the program aren't with the players. We have outstanding athletes who, in my judgement, deserve far better because they have been ill-used.

Currie is merely a suit filled with a graduate of the Jimmy Meek and Mike Hamilton school of football savvy. Beyond him, though, there's something fundamentally wrong within the university's athletic system. It's well past time for Dr. Joe DiPietro to stop ducking this issue and offer a meaningful statement because the buck stops on his desk.

I don't think that Tennessee can compete with the likes of LSU, Bama, Georgia, Auburn, Florida and the rest of the Big Six anymore. It may be time to turn in our Big Six card and accept our place amongst the midlevel SEC programs now. We are seen nationally as a solid program but not elite or able to play with the Big Boys nationally anymore. I honestly think those days are gone forever.

I agree. DiPietro has nothing to lose imo. He will be replaced most likely in the not so distant future anyway.

Did he say no to a blank check offer or a half-hearted 4 mill offer? Pay him or Gundy whatever it takes- this is a turning point moment.
To he!! with that! Cutcliffe wasn't even a .500 coach this season and he's definitely on the down side of his career. Move on.

Duke is 6-6 this year. Had we hired Cut after Fulmer, we'd be in a lot better shape than we are now.

What a loser mentality! This is the second winningest program in SEC history and second most profitable athletic department in America and you want us to just tuck our tail and accept mid-level mediocrity? Turn in your fan card now, wuss!

You’re right. This is a turning point moment. Bleep this up and we are done for.

Whatever it takes. Get this guy.

I love ya...........but you need to drink more. You are living in the past. Sell your season tickets, take up a hobby and stay home!! Filmer is done. Cutty is done. The Chief is done.... Relax, except it or just Quit. It is a Sport that has now become a BIG business. It has NOTHING to do with traditions, sport or anything close to what it used to be. It is ALL about increasing enrollment, getting Aluminums to donate larger amounts of money and that is the list....
Good LUCK man!! :dance2:

I've honestly never been more proud. The volunteer army is to be reckoned with, the admin is on notice.
