SPRING FOOTBALL HAS ENDED: Arkansas and Kentucky had their spring games Saturday so that means spring football is over in the SEC and time for some early predictions. In the SEC East, I’ll go with Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and Vanderbilt in that order. In the West, I’ll go with Alabama, Arkansas, LSU, Auburn, Mississippi State and Ole Miss ... I predict Alabama will go unbeaten in the regular season and lose in the SEC Championship Game the same way Florida did last year. The high weight of expectation will be too much for the Crimson Tide in Atlanta ... If Arkansas can find a defense, the Hogs will give Alabama a real scare in the west ... Tennessee has a chance to finish dead last in the SEC East. Last place will be decided when Vandy and UT square off on November 20. There is a reason Lane Kiffin got the hell out of Knoxville when he could ... If Stephen Garcia is still on the South Carolina roster in August it will be an upset ... Mississippi State will make a bowl and score a huge upset in an SEC West game ... Kentucky fans will be wondering what they did wrong to deserve Joker Phillips as head coach by midseason ... LSU fans will be calling for Les Miles’ head after the Florida game ... Ronald Powell will have Florida fans swear Wilber Marshall has been reincarnated ... Ryan Mallett will throw 40 touchdown passes for Arkansas ... At least 10 Alabama fans will claim they were healed of terminal cancer when they touched Nick Saban’s jacket.

That Kentucky streak needs to end so that another team can enjoy having the record of most consecutive wins against another FBS school. ;)

I think we'll be in 4th place in the East this year. Can't see us finishing behind Vandy. Kentucky, well, I think that's a toss up this year.

The author made this statement but still picked Kentucky to finish ahead of us? Amateur at best.

Surprise. Gatorbait picked Florida to finish first and Tennessee last. Not saying it couldn't happen, but I think we'll be much better than we're getting credit for right now.

Florida lost ALOT on both sides of the ball, but considering that their offense wasn't that great last year anyway and they're breaking in a new QB (and possibly a new offense) then I think they have plenty of work ahead of them.

I'm sure I speak for many people when I say that I don't give a flying frank what gatorbait says about UT. I'm sure there are people over there who would like to discuss it though

Gee, I'm sure glad Rex is here to keep us up to date on all the goings on over at gatorbait, I'd feel cheated otherwise.

While this could certainly happen, it won't happen if some of the projections come true--for example, if Stephen Garcia is gone from SC ("if Garcia is on the SC roster in August, it will be an upset"), they won't finish ahead of us. If by midseason, Ky fans are ready to get rid of Joker Phillips (" Kentucky fans will be wondering what they did wrong to deserve Joker Phillips as head coach by midseason"), they won't finish ahead of us

I've got an idea. Let's play out the season this fall and see who finishes where.

How convenient that a Gator fan site would pick Florida as SEC champions and Tennessee last in the East, and make a rosy prediction for Miss. State and their former Gator assistant...

Even in the lowest of lows, Kentucky will fail to defeat Tennessee.

Even with 2 coaching changes I still think we are better off than Georgia and south Carolina so I would say one of them battle vandy and ky for last. East is down right now. West is on fire with 3 teams getting very good in AL,Aub, and Ark.

Georgia and USC will win more games than us this year.

It could happen but UK pretty much reached their high water mark talent wise during the past couple of seasons. So Car overall has more talent right now. IMHO, they're #2 behind UF in the East and could finally win it.

UGA has to prove it to me on the field. They obviously have more talent but that's been true each of the last 6 seasons. UT has beaten them 4 times and 3 of those wins were under Fulmer.

Anything could happen I guess, but my sense is that there is a lot of inexperience in the east this year. If Garcia ends up NOT being the QB at SC, I think it makes the division pretty wide open. Florida has depth for sure, but some inexperience as well. I think it will be a really interesting season for fans of all teams.
