I always thought the "visiting team wears white" rule was stupid. The Vols could pretty much wear their orange jerseys against every SEC team. The contrast is enough of a difference.

Actually its the home team's choice of jersey to wear. LSU is the only team I know that wears white at home, so yes, generally teams wear their dark unis at home.

At least some liked those ugly uniforms. I hated them they were by far the worst jerseys I have ever seen. I mean just as bad as a black jersey.

Sorry had to vent

By the way I hate bama.

I hate Bama. And cannot pull for them to win, ever, under any circumstance. My DNA prevents it.

.......an article written concerning the Vol-Bama rivalry stated that as recently as the early 80's that both schools were still allowed to wear their dark jerseys in the same game....the Vols in orange and Bama in crimson. Out of curiosity, I just don't remember that being allowed at that point in time. I believe I remember this happening as recently as the 60's, but not the 80's. Anyone remember for sure? Appreciate the feedback.

The early seventies was the last time both were allowed to wear home jearseys for the game. Around 1972, the rule changed and the away team had to wear the away white jerseys...for Tennessee, it was the white jersey with orange across the shoulders. They wore them as throwbacks for the UNLV game in 2004.

I hate Bama too.

I'm RockyTop18 and I approve this message because I believe a world where Alabama is hated by all is the only way we truly return to the American way of life during these troubled times.
