Vols finish regular season nationally (out of 131 teams):
#1 total offense
#1 scoring offense
#1 passing efficiency offense
T-46 in scoring defense (not as bad as you might think)
T-12 in turnover margin
#5 red zone offense
#19 red zone defense (surprised?)
#5 punt returns
#131 in time of possession, which makes the above even more amazing

The offense was amazing and fun to watch! Being ranked #1 in total offense, scoring offense & passing efficiency offense is incredible in year 2 under Heupel.

Total defense at 86 and passing yards allowed at 127 will need to be fixed if we’re going to improve next year. Not sure what Heupel will do but I’ll support him regardless if he keeps Banks & Martinez.

Go VOLS!

Our D isn’t as bad as some make it out to be. Our DBs are bad for sure and the fact we’ve been able to mask it as much as we have is a testament to the coaching staff.

I could maybe see doing something with Martinez but firing Banks would be epically stupid.

Is it just me or do we need to find a way to get the ball in Dee Williams hands more often than just on punt returns?

On Defense, we made strides vs. 2021 in stopping the Run, getting 3rd down stops, and getting stops in the Red Zone.
Obviously struggled against good Passing teams, including getting their QBs on the ground.
On Offense, we were amazing! Hope we still hum after Hooker, Darnell Wright, and Carvin move on. Wright was punking the Vandy DE last night.

Another stat at this season's end. Tennessee 866 all time wins. Georgia 865. Looks like this is the year they overtake our #2 spot in the SEC. It's a damn shame what occurred here over the past 15 years when we had a substantial cushion over them.

It's interesting that you chose not to post the passing defense stat. An unintentional oversight on your part? We should have a ton of defensive help on the way in the 2023 and 2024 recruiting classes. We need it.

Not an oversight, just emphasizing the positive.

If you look at yards per play, our defense was pretty decent. Just need to continue to grow on that side of the ball.

Because of how fast we score total yards is a poor way to analyze our d
