Matt Simms will declare early

No. He'll come back for a run at his 2nd heisman.

Stocker will go high. He'll impress all year.

A couple guys could do the whole... big senior bowl game, attractive combine numbers, get picked thing.

I dunno if Jones and Moore have the top end speed for their size. I could be totally wrong so don't jump all over me.

Whats the ratio of what you do during the season as to what you do at the combine. Either one more important than the other?

Ben Martin might get drafted if he tests off the charts at the combine, which is a possibility.

Gerald Jones is going to have to stay healthy for a full year, same thing for Moore.

Walker gets drafted and Stocker gets drafted.

Neither will be top two rounds unless they have monster seasons.

Cooper could be an undrafted FA that sticks with a team for awhile.

Savion Frazier could possibly be a late round pick if his knee is a 100% but I doubt it.

I don't really see Gerald Williams getting drafted unless he has an outstanding season too.

Agree 100%. Ben Martin has that freak athletic ability, he'll do well at the combine, just as he did in HS camps when he earned 5 stars. Walker and Stocker are first day picks. Gerald Jones is my favorite player, but he'll be a possession WR at the next level. Needs a great senior season to prove himself... which maybe hard with our QB situation. Cooper plays a special role that is need in the NFL, he could find a home in the league.

If our offense is as bad as it's supposed to be, it's going to hurt a lot of guys. Stocker will likely drop a good bit.

Berry's numbers went down last year, i'd say he's pretty happy with his draft outcome.

I do believe Savion Frazier is the best athlete of the bunch. Don't know what that means for his draft status. Rico McCoy was our best Linebacker last year and he was undrafted, if I'm not mistaken.

Not too great, but I don't expect a "noone taken" scenario either. Maybe some juniors could declare earlier to make it better, but with the way this team currently is I'd rather they all stay if possible
Unless the league gets their labor situation straightened out, I don't see very many underclassmen from anywhere declaring for this draft.

that's another good point

though I do believe I read somewhere (I could be wrong on this) that - for whatever reason - the draft happens even if the league goes into lockout

though i'd have to check that again as I'm not completely certain

You're probably right, I'm not sure. However, if I was a junior facing the choice of being locked out and not getting paid vs returning for my senior season I think I'd finish school. If the lockout does happen, that will be an interesting angle to follow.

I could see Reveiz being taken as an undrafted FA then turning into a Bill Bates type player. His heart and work-ethic could land him on Special Teams for someone.

I predicted Crompton would be a 5th round draft pick and sign a million dollar contract this time last year

It always seems like anybody who has even a moderate amount of success on a bad offense, especially in the sec, has a good draft outlook.

I think the vols have three players taken in the next draft.

Not really. He had fewer INTs, but he was borderline playing a different position. He also had Monte Kiffin vouching for him.

Berry was known very well for interceptions, return yards, etc. He still played great as pretty much a linebacker, but his numbers did go down. Monte also vouched about Reviez but i'm not sure how many people know about him. Just saying.

I agree with Justin tho, Berry was pretty much a lock as long as he didnt sustain a huge injury.

I think even with a mediocre season Stocker will go first round. NFL Scouts love his athleticism and size. Scouts aren't stupid... they'll know the situation at UT isn't great with a new QB and a inexperienced OL.

Chris Walker might be able to get into the 1st-2nd Round with a good season and a great combine. I.E. he puts up 25-35 on the BP, a sub 4.6 40 a 40+ Vertical and good times in both the shuttle and 3-cone drill. He'll benefit from teams looking to move to a 3-4 base and getting athletic guys for OLB.

Gerald Jones and D-MO will need a good combine but they'll need a good year most of all. If they're open a lot, even without getting thrown to, that'll help. Scouts pour over hours and hours of players footage and hold positives for them even if the stats aren't there. If he shows that he doesn't (or can't) block his CB on runs and can't beat his man from getting jammed at the line that will definitely hurt his draft status. I can see Jones going in the 2nd Round at best but possibly in the 3rd Round. D-Mo needs to show more reliable hands and that he is more than just a deep threat.

Jarrod Shaw, LaMarcus Thompson, Savion Frazier and Ben Martin will all need eye-opening seasons and good-great combines in order to garner attention to be studied. Otherwise... they're just contributors and not stars. Contributors don't get drafted. Jarrod Shaw could be the highest taken of the bunch... but probably no higher than the 4th Round.
