Is this fact or fiction.I read it the other day but don't recall where, UT had less yards per carry in over 20 years.

i believe it's actually longer than that....and i belive it was yards per game, not carry.....

It was the lowest rushing yards per game since the mid-1960's (I believe it was 1967), and we have pretty much the same running back crew and offensive line returning this year and being overhyped (once again) by many posters on this board.

I see more of the same on offense (we may be a little better, but not significantly better), and I think we may be even worse on defense.
Nah, we will be significantly better on D. Our D line is gonna be good and our Linebackers will be deadly. Bet.

depends on your definition of significant...108 ypg last season, to say 150 a game this season would be significant, but may not yield the results we need....either way, it will be better.

the interior of the Dline should cause concern, having said that, i do think we'll be better....how much better...debatable, a lot like the offense, it wont take much to show a significant change...

honeslty i'd just settle for being in the top half of the SEC in both categories this season.......

Based on what? Our own coaches are saying that they're concerned with our defensive line, and our running backs (that couldn't do squat against our opponents all year last year) are lighting our defense up for 5 to 6 yards per carry.

I don't look for incredible improvement, but you've got to figure though that just having healthy bodies to rotate into the game will lead to at least some improvement. By the time we played Arkansas and LSU last year, attrition had just killed us.

what criticism of the Rbacks? they've been in large part praised all off season??? there was/is concern about the right side of the Oline and the depth at DT is still a concern.....

Read my statement again, and take special notice this time of the comma before the word "and".

I think depth on the D line is much better. Fisher is healthy. Bolden seems to be coming around. Mapu should be a stud. And our LBs are always good at filling holes.

From the scrimmage vids i have seen, our D looks like it is readly to dominate again.

If we cant improve on last years debacle then we are in for a long year.

Tonight's most predictable post award goes to...

No. Actually you would win that award because every day you seem to scour the board for my posts so that you can make a comment not about the content of my post, but about me. Get a life!

Says the guy who scours the board to slam the team and the fans every chance he gets. This is what we call "rich", Unc423. I'm hardly the only poster here that calls you out for your consistent railing of the team that hasn't played a single down this season and fans for daring to think ANY aspect of the team might perform well, but knowing everything, I'm sure you already knew that. Keep up the good work. :salute:
