Vols #12 in Coaches Poll

If we beat Georgia on Saturday I’d say we move to 7. We would pass everyone not playing, Auburn, North Carolina, Miami or Clemson, etc.
We should be ahead of Auburn and UNC regardless. UNC has looked terrible against 1 really bad team and 1 below average team.

Man! We coulda been top 10! definitely better than #11 Cincinnati, and arguably should be ahead of #10 Okla State. Plus #7 Miami is a mirage that will soon fade away.

But still, we'll take it! Top 10 for sure after we whup the Dawgs Saturday.

Meanwhile, ESPN's Power Rankings have the Vols at #15:

15. Tennessee Volunteers (2-0)
Tennessee won its eighth straight tilt on Saturday, the longest winning streak in the SEC, with a 35-12 beatdown of Missouri that saw the Vols play a much more complete and cleaner game (no turnovers and only three penalties) than they did in their season-opening win over South Carolina. Tennessee looked even stronger in the offensive line with the addition of Georgia transfer Cade Mays at right tackle. Jeremy Pruitt has created real momentum in a Tennessee program that could take it to another level on Saturday if the Vols can win at Georgia.

College football Power Rankings for Week 5

Go Vols!

You, sir, should know better than to be anything other than 100% grateful for a #12 ranking.

I'm going to Nite this thread before anyone else can complain about not being Top 10, and our team then comes out flat next Saturday. Sheesh.

UT is better than 4 of the 5 teams immediately ahead of them in that poll. I'm sure that schedule strength and presumed losses to UGA, Bama, and UF play into the lower ranking.
I hope so. but we will find out Saturday and on the 24th how good we really are. I don't want to stick my head too far out until the 1st weekend of November.
