Vols #12 in Coaches Poll

Man! We coulda been top 10! definitely better than #11 Cincinnati, and arguably should be ahead of #10 Okla State. Plus #7 Miami is a mirage that will soon fade away.

But still, we'll take it! Top 10 for sure after we whup the Dawgs Saturday.

Meanwhile, ESPN's Power Rankings have the Vols at #15:

15. Tennessee Volunteers (2-0)
Tennessee won its eighth straight tilt on Saturday, the longest winning streak in the SEC, with a 35-12 beatdown of Missouri that saw the Vols play a much more complete and cleaner game (no turnovers and only three penalties) than they did in their season-opening win over South Carolina. Tennessee looked even stronger in the offensive line with the addition of Georgia transfer Cade Mays at right tackle. Jeremy Pruitt has created real momentum in a Tennessee program that could take it to another level on Saturday if the Vols can win at Georgia.

They could say the same about us at this point in the season.

Miami is not a mirage.
When you get good QB play along with a talented defense, that team usually has a lot of success

Polls are useless.

They mean absolutely nothing until teams play a few games.

Even in this screwed up season, a team should have to play a minimum of 5 games to be even considered in a poll.

Too much regional bias and bs opinion in polls, especially the early in the season polls.........

Yeah, it is. I honestly don't know how those two things (FPI and Power Ratings) relate to each other, whether they're done by different groups at ESPN, or what. But they are definitely two different things.

Create pressure and run the ball consistently.

They can bear Georgia. Just don’t get caught up in the bull spat.

They could but who cares what they say?? Good grief.lol.
Just saying I’m not upset that Miami is ranked ahead of us. They have proven just as much as us at this point. This Saturday is when everything changes.

And I’m sure OSU will be ranked ahead of us when we win. It’s stupid

If we beat Georgia on Saturday I’d say we move to 7. We would pass everyone not playing, Auburn, North Carolina, Miami or Clemson, etc.
